Appointments phone or just turn up?

Hi,

I'm looking to start building sites for local businesses, is it best to phone up and arrange an appointment or just turn up when they don't look busy?

You've got to book appointments, otherwise you will waste way too much time turning up when the decision maker isn't there or simply is not interest.

I tend to agree with Tom Bond, although I have known and still do know, a ton of people who cold call door to door...and it works. They get sales too every day. They think calling ahead is an extra step...I think it sets you up ahead of time to have leverage/interest.... We both (both schools) get sales .

I think i might do a bit of both. I'm going to target barbers first, but most places are one or two man bands so they might not appreciate be just turning up.
