There have been some great threads regarding the effectiveness of video lately. Here is another one.

I created a website for a Optician client of mine, we incorporated video into their website by taking pictures and creating a slideshow. Pictures included, interior and exterior of the store, kids waiting area, opticians interacting with their patients and kids reaching their hand into a sucker jar and then creating a slideshow.

Today, I went to their office to get video testimonial footage for myself (every customer I get, I am pushing for a video testimonial). This opticians deals with alot of infants and children. Alot of kids come to their office in tears, scared because the optometrist had to force the kids eyes open in order to get the drops in and eye exam done. Now, they fear the optician.

Here is the power of video:

They recommend the parents visit their website, sit down with their child and watch this video. This video shows the optometrist working with their patients, smiling children, kids play area, toys, books, kids reaching in the sucker bowl with a smile on thier face, etc...

They could not say enough great things about the services we provided them, why, because their website speaks directly to their patients and they use it to calm the scared children and to show them it will be a fun experience.

Why am I pushing video testimonials? You should hear the tone in their voice when they recommend my services. Something text testimonials can never do.

Video is effective technique for promotion. It is effective only when you able to attract or force your customers to see the video. If they give their attention on video and your video is designed properly to catch their interest, then video marketing is a great one.
