Hi,

I'm not against selling face-to-face, but has anyone
on here had any success selling 'local' type sites in
other ways? If so, what did you do?..

I'd be grateful to hear your thoughts...

Thank you,

I would use direct mail. I would make sure you site is ranked on the first page, use jing to take a picture of it, maybe also take a picture of their header as well...point out the fact that you own the site, gets xxx amount of searches per month, etc. Don't mention anything about price and just tell them to call you back in you are interested.

Send it out to everyone that's on page 2 and beyond!

There are 2 types of people in this world....those who get it and those who don't. The ones that get it know exactly what we are talking about. The ones who don't are left scratching their heads.

      Hey Cay,

Wow, thanks for the great reply.

Direct mail i've been toying with, and ultimately I feel
that, because of the similar processes it goes through,
direct mail is somewhat akin to email and may suffer a
similar 'unopened/this is just spam' fate.

      I'm working on it 'though!

      Regards,

Try postcards instead of letters. That way, they have to read it cause the info is right there. Just make a really eye catching design, or hire a graphic designer to do it. I know when I get my mail I at least glance at the postcard offers to see if its interesting.
