For those selling high value products and services such as web design that sell for $1,000 plus who sell their products through cold calling what's your typical response rate?

Thanks!

The price of the product does not have any effect on the closing ratio.

in my experiences, B2B sales reps should expect somewhere around the following conversion numbers.

100 cold calls (decision makers' info. properly qualified lead)
    30 DM's reached (30%)
    10 appointments set (30%)
    3 proposals (30%)
    1 close (30%)

Items like a personal visit, hand written note, confidence, effective script, experience, relationship skills, time of day and week, etc are factors that influence these numbers.

    These are considered average.

B2B sales follow the 80/20 rule. The 20% blow these numbers out.

I don't know what you mean by response rate. But I agree with Ken that, in telephone prospecting, the price of the product has nothing whatsoever to do with the conversion (or closing) rate. It affects only the qualifying rate, or the number of your participants in your market who are qualified to buy.

That being said, $1000 is paper-clip and post-it note money for business prospects and it should not disqualify any real business.

Response rate, meaning the amount of people wanting to talk further about the services, either at a later date through an appointment, or follow up call, maybe 5%. For me, average conversions will be around 1-2%, but I'm trying to improve that.
