I was asked to post in here rather than the main IM forum.

Thanks to Mike Blumenthals for pointing out the industry's Local Keyword Tool. With this geo creation tool, local marketers can create an unlimited number of combinations and permutations for keywords.

    KW research for a local business has three components.

    1. Geomod
    2. Core Term
    3. Term Modifier

    ie. A dentist --- located in Chicago.

    1. Geomods = Chicago, Chicagoland, 60606, ORD, etc.
    2. Core Terms = Dentist, Dental, Dentistry, Etc.
    a. Service or Product Core Terms - Teeth Whitenening, Pediatric
    3. Term Modifiers = Best, office, holistic, practice, firm, company, etc

    First, create a list of your geocodes, core terms and modifiers. Run in LMS KW Tool. Run combinations in Google. Analyze data.

      For large PPC campaigns where you need to keep on using variations of the same or similar keyword sets and modifiers I use an online service - keywordpoint. It's pretty decent and they have an API for more advance functionality.
