New Sales job on Monday....how should I prepare?
I posted this in the off-topic forum, but then someone recommended that I post it here since many people here are proficient at sales.
So, the time has come for me to start my new job. Starting in sales at a small software company on Monday. I'll basically be the second sales guy on the team, that's how small we are. We're selling a software product that prevents hackers from stealing your personal information using prevention, detection, and mitigation methods.
I haven't worked a sales job in almost 2 years, so I'm a bit unsure of myself in this regard. Just wondering what I should do between now and Monday, what I should bring, and any other tips/advice people might have in order for me to get started on the right foot. Since the job will involve alot of cold calling and selling over the phone, I picked up and am reading the book, "Smart Calling" by Art Sobczak. I was also given a few white papers to review.
Looking forward to reading what you have to say. Thanks.
Chad
The good thing about this business is that "People don't succeed cause they aim too high and miss, no, they aim too low... and hit. Most people don't aim at all." (Les Brown)
Not us... Not marketers. We live far above mediocrity. Always keep this in mind at all times..
