So I get a Group-on notice--check what's being offered--and find out its something to do with a dentist.

Clicked through to the site (as I often do) because I'm curious about the design firm that made the site. The site was good but nothing special and definitely nothing that couldn't be sourced right here on this forum (more on this later).

This particular firm "specialized" in web design for dentists but let me ask you a question.

Is there really that much difference between a web site for a dentist and one for a contractor. Or a site for a musical artist and one for a restaurant. The frame is the same, only the decorations differ.

I say this because you might want to think about showing your prospects the "face" they want to see. If you do a lot of work with a particular industry it might be beneficial for your web presence to establish your company as the expert for that particular industry.

So if most of your work comes from dentists and contractors you create two sites which cater specifically to these industries. Most business owners like knowing you specialize in whatever business or industry they happen to be in.

Show them the face they want to see.

The body's work is the same regardless of industry.

I also mentioned that the sites we're nice but nothing spectacular. Don't feel like you can't a) make one yourself or b) find someone here to make it for you *preferred method*.

You can't swim if you're not in the water. Go ahead and get wet.
