It seems like making a blog is fairly methodical, inexpensive and an interesting process. Then why do blog fails?

I can think of a few reasons.

- Burnout
- Too competitive niche
- No networking with other bloggers

Have you walked away from a blog or let a blog fail?

Blogs fail because people are not interesting. Most people have poor communication skills so even if they have something interesting to say no one will read past the first line and they certainly won't bookmark the site and come back to it.

As far as marketing type blogs, blogs that were made to make money, that is usually a lack of promotion, aka link building.

Surely blogs are being exploited in many way there are many more failing blogs than profitable ones.

However, effective use of a blog for a local business can provide a place of interaction with customers, prospect, vendors and their industry at large. Most people seem to miss this and create blog content for SEO purposes.

A blog can be a place for a local business to create industry relevant content and drive traffic through email marketing....
or a place to host and tag education content for an Attorney
or a place to boost employee moral and showcase an employee of the month
or a place to offer a promotion
    or an opt-in
    or an opinion
    or rebuttal for reputation management

The list can go on. The point is a creating an article simply to have linking content is usually the main focus of many.

It's like people chase the money and not their passion.

I think a blog can be successful if the author is passionate about truly helping to market the product or service of the business or individual.

    Those Blogs fail that are-
    -started without passion.
-lacking in content and the topic knowledge.
-started by people who never researched the blogging field, never tried to gain some content writing
skills before starting to write, who never learned about blog SEO techniques.
-started by those people who take blogging as a very easy and simple process that can be performed
    by anyone!
