Need some help with this

Hey guys,

I have started a little consulting business after reading a lot of helpfull threads here on the forum but i need some help:

I have a client who has a car dealership and he needs help selling more cars so he came to me, now i know how to find new customers for most businesses but how do i go about this? he already advertises on something simular to craigslist (i'm from europe) he has his own website where he puts the cars on and in this branch you can't hold a "something" of the week like most businesses.

Another tuff client ( at least in my book) is a company that came to me to get more customers, but they sell fireproof doors, armored doors, safes etc so how should i go about that? any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance,

All because they have a website doesn't mean they're ranking highly for certain keywords. Try to optimize their website for keywords where they don't appear in the search results.

Yes you're right only the company that sells fireproof doors etc are ranked nr1 for all their keywords so i need to come up with something else, i can't have them do a weekly promotion on the doors so i need some clever offline tactics to get them more customers but can't think of any.

I'm not familiar with the product but it sounds like something that some people need but don't know they need. Maybe you can figure out a way to sell these people. One idea would be to create a demonstration comparing a regular door with a fireproof door.

Thank you both for the ideas, Derrick that is some solid out of the box thinking, i need to concentrate more on that than on the obvious stuff i.e i keep thinking cars and car related but there are more routes to go by.
          tnx

  • Find a business in a rich neighborhood that will allow your client to park a couple of their cars for sale. I've seen a dealership do this. They can also start their own YouTube channel. Many dealers already do this.

Do any of these companies use Social Media that could be a good route to go down.

Car Dealership: Do a promotion not related to cars ie: test a drive car and receive movie tickets or test drive a car and enter in to receive a $100 Gas Card

Fire Proof doors: Try going the youtube route and maybe have a video that is not fire proof and show the things behind it getting burnt to a crisp. Then a fire proof door that keeps everything safe and sound. If done right they could possibly use the video as a normal T.V. commercial.

Here in the states we get postcards in the mail with car keys glued to them. The postcard says "bring this key down to Bob's Nissan and you might win a brand new Versa!" The idea being that only one (or maybe none) of the keys actually starts the car, but it gets people to come down and test drive.

Or, without the key idea you could give away $200 to one randomly selected person that test drives a car in a particular weekend.

Is your dealership client on Social Media? It is a great medium to get noticed and perfect for creating offers/coupons to drive traffic into his dealership. A lot of dealers are creating YouTube videos as well.

AutomotiveDigitalMarketing is a dot com community that I am part of and there is a lot of good info on there.
