Plant The Seeds Today...Enjoy The Bloom Tomorrow (or in my case 4 months from now!)

Hey Warriors,

Been a bit quiet working away with offline clients and just had a great thing happen to me late last week and wanted to share with you all!

I reached out to a potential client via (where else...you should know this by now..Preeti's fav hangout spot--yes even on weekends lol LinkedIn!!!) about 4 months ago.

Never heard back him. I did follow up with a phone call and wasn't able to connect but did send him a message outlining what I did and how I could help him (gave him a quick review on his website).

No reply, no contact since then.

Fast forward to last Thursday, I see I have a missed call. It's a number that goes back to a kitchen & bath store that I don't recall. Check out their website and it starts to ring a bell (and makes me want to start renovating my place with all of their gorgeous stuff!).

So I call them back and connect with the owner. He tells me that he saw my message from a couple of months ago and remembered me and wants to meet ASAP since he's unhappy with his current marketing and knows he needs to improve.

The next day I'm in his office, we talk for 3 hours (I think I met my match when it comes to chattyness lol) and he tells me he needs major help with online and offline marketing. I tell him I'm not cheap. He's okay with that, just send over a proposal.

Sent over a proposal and signing him up this week!

The moral of the story: if you want the potential to have more sales in the next 5 months, as we close out 2012, do the work today, tomorrow, every day to plant those seeds of opportunities.

Just another reminder that growing your business is a daily task, it's a marathon not a sprint

I like your mindset! Way to go Preeti! Keep up the good work. One thing that has helped my business in the past is to continually follow up. We used to put our clients into an 8 x 8 marketing program, 8 contacts in 8 weeks and then into our long term follow up system of 30 touches per year. Some of the touches are a phone call, some a hand written note, others a helpful report. It has allowed us to work mostly by referral and whenever someone even thinks of needing the services we provide, we have their Mindshare.

    Enjoy the new fixtures!

Good job, what services are you providing at what rate? Is it more than what he was paying?

    Nice story there

I like the way you see things. As if they are always in your advantage. And the planting seeds today advice is very much appreciated here. I think I'm gonna start planting seeds too. I just need to know what kind of seeds and where to plant. LOL
