How many searches are good enough use as keyword?

Hi im going into Offline SEO and mobile web but I would like to know how many searches are good enough for me to even offer this service. Im getting keywords with between 100 - 500 exact local monthly searches. Are these figures good enough for me to charge between $250 to $1050 per month for SEO?

It depends on the type of business you are targeting.

For a deli that sells a $4 sandwich, 100 searches won't justify their SEO (just sayin for example not literally!)

But 100 searches for a lawyer that charges 10K per client is a whole other thing.

Yea I think so. I mean, there aren't tens of thousands of people out there searching for their local accountant or whatever. All you need is SOME search volume and you are good for most local niches.

Yes it should have exactly more than 300+ exact search for any business. You can charge according to there business if you will not charge they will not hire you. For example if you are charging $150 to a hotel they will not hire you, they will think that you are not the best in this field thats why you are charging less but if you charge them around $750 to $1000 a month. They will be serious to know about your details and you plan to there business.

Depends on business, but remember to also factor in your ability to make lifteime customers. Don´t just look for the value of 1 sale.

Like my client who sell VPS. They know that customers usually stay with them for 7-8years, so they can crunch the SEO numbers out of that.

Hey this thread has good advice, but the two main things are:

Like posted said above, you have to take into account the business. You should target businesses that have a ROI per client that makes SEO a good investment.

If a deli is selling $5 sandwiches, you cannot charge $500/mo because you would need to tie 100 new customers AT LEAST to justify their spending. This does not even take into account their operating costs. Granted some would be repeat customers and such, but still...

But lets say you have a fencing company, and average fence they sell is $600. So if you can just sell them 5-10 fences a month from the internet, these guys are clients for life, because their ROI is through the roof. So search volume of 100 or so is fine, because it does not take a ton to justify SEO here.

However, when looking at ANY keyword search volume, always subtract 30-40% to take into account:

    Adwords clicks
People who search and don't click
People who search for their own websites

    Hope this helps.

    Hello,

Every SEO prices their services differently. I suggest that you look around. The lower the price, generally predicts a low-quality service. Search Engine Optimization is a very positive marketing strategy, and should not be offered as a low quality service.

As per keywords, there's nothing wrong with targeting long tail keywords, those that don't get a lot of traffic at all, but are easily ranked for. This allows you ro rank for many of them, thus generating a BIG number of targeted traffic. Don't go for the more generic, competitive keywords, it will take forever for you to reach your goal, and clients seem to become very impatient at around 3-4 months.

SEO is a long-term strategy, and a business should ideally stick to their SEO agency, for the long haul. Remember, SEO is a great investment.

    Hiya,

Looking at search volume in itself is not enough, you need to look at the value of the customer.

    What I mean is this.....

A pool builders average customer spend is $50K

a Local house cleaner average customer spend may be $100 per week or $5200 pa

So its the dollar value that one customer can bring to the business - sometimes its a once off payment other times its a reoccurring and sometimes its a total mixture!

For high end services such a lawyer 100 - 500 local searches is HOT!

If the competition is low then jump all over it!

If you need a hand with anything you can always hit me up on skype - always happy to help out =)

    Good Luck

    Emma
