Google Places Not Converting Over To Google+ Page. Please advise..

We have a client who now has a Google Places Page that converted over to Google+ Page and then we created a Google+ Page for the client. Now there are 2 pages, Google is still serving the one they converted over and not the one we created. Besides confirming the address and attempting to merge these 2 pages when we set up the Google+ Page, what else can be done?

Has anyone run into this problem? Solutions?

ive notice a change in google places that just occurred. Since the updates seem like they are done they should be able to start cleaning up some of the fallout.

I did get quick help by emailing them using the help tab in google places.

Thanks....but here is where the problem lies....we have 2 Google Places Pages now.
One is the old Google Places Page converted by Google to the new look Google Local Page, then we have the Google+ Local Page that I created.
Google Places is serving the old content with the new look and the one we created is not showing up on search. Unless you do a Google+ Search, inside of Google+
    Any other ideas my friends?

Why did you create a 2nd listing? You've created a duplicate listing and this will only hurt you.

Assuming you have control of the original listing, I would delete the new one you created since it will only interfere with ranking the other. Google will keep merging the info from both, it will hurt your rankings, and definitely mess up the way your listing is rendered in the SERPs.

Just to clarify, I'm offering the above advice assuming it was a Google Plus LOCAL page and not just a Google Plus Page for Business that you created. There is a big difference between the two.

You should have 2 Google pages.

1)The Google + Local page (formerly the Google Places page)
2)The Google + Page (a 'business' page, but not technically the 'Local' page)

    That is the norm.

Eventually, those two are supposed to merge together, but that is way down the road.

Thanks Greg, So what you are saying, is that continue to optimize the Google Places Page in the old platform? It appears any changes there will reflect on the new Google Local Page they created.

Then have a 2nd page that was created on a Google+ Branded Business Page and that the two will eventually merge?

      Thanks
      James

I'm really hoping they forget about merging the two. When you consider the way G+ Local grabs info from so many online sources to "verify" information, the PIN process, and other headaches... merging the two would make having a G+ presence an absolute nightmare.

Hope you don't mind if I chime in again...

you have that right. The Google Plus Local backend is the same backend as the old places. The only thing that changed with the switch is the frond end places listing. It was then renamed Google Plus Local.

Google Plus Business Pages on the other hand are different. They have different functions, etc. Google is talking about merging them, but in the meantime, you should be paying attention to both.

Cool, that make more sense. I wish I could see some analytics on the Branded Page I created within Google +
