Finding new businesses

Hey Warriors,

Is there a local government (or something similar) website that I can go to and find what new businesses moved into the area or just got into business?

Where do you look for that info?

Hey James I just found the ideal site for you:

Mailing List - Email, Business, Sales Leads, Consumer - InfoUSA

    I hope this helps.

I am currently doing something similar with selling websites to new businesses. I get my leads from the local county tax collectors office. In my state you have to have an occupational license to open a brick and mortar business. Hence you have to pay a TAX to the local counties. They sometimes list all the new businesses that have paid that tax. Don't know if that is for all states but in Florida it is pretty well universal. Just Google county (your target county) + tax collector and see what you get.

      Hope that helps.

Let me know how it turns out for you.

Do you call the CoC and just say "who's new this month"?

I ask because I can see alot of chamber's saying "you need to be a member to get that information".

Well to be honest....I already know people from inside my local Chamber so I get it alittle easier....I'm sure each city has their own rules....It wouldn't hurt to call...the worst they could say is that you have to pay, no big deal. On the other hand...you might really luck out.

In CA when a DBA is formed you have to run a classified ad. Perhaps other states are the same? Perfect way to target.

This is similar to my area... I was looking for a resource that I can check on a weekly basis to get every business from that week, instead of needing to read the paper each day.
