Advice needed for developing mobile apps

I have an idea of developing a mobile apps that allows users to order food from the apps. My target is the fast food restaurants available in the country, mainly McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Dominos etc. Problem is, I'm not a developer myself. I don't know where to find a good one and how to approach all the fast food owners. I don't get the real process in doing this yet. The only think I can think of is that the application will be free for users, I take some percentage from the sale (maybe 5-7%). Please help.

What you need to do is to have your our thoughts and configuration for you app and get some freelancer to develop a generic mobile app which will be used by any fast food restaurants. You need to run it on a server and show as a demo to this shop owners to get their and approval.
You may modify the app to their specific needs and make it to run on their servers. However, getting some percentage for every online purchase may not be possible. You may contract for initial application installation and maintenance cost for the app.
On the other side, if you develop the app compatible to apple phone you can sell it on the app store for a small quantum of amount and earn a lot for users.

I definitely recommend creating a free posting on a site like Elance or oDesk with your concept. When I do I usually get anywhere up to 50 different developers all submitting quotes for the project. Even if you don't want to hire someone from one of these sites, I still recommend posting a job there so you can get a feel for around how much developing the app should cost you.

After you get the app built out using all sample menus, etc. you will need to try and get some face time with execs at the different restaurants. This is definitely going to be the hard part for you, but it sounds like the idea has potential. The major problem you're going to face from what I can see is making sure you pitch YOURSELF not just your app. You need to show them that working with YOU is better than simply using their resources to create a similar app themselves.

Hope that helps and let me know if you have any more specific questions - I'm always glad to help in any way I can!
