Excuse me....I'm a "Belly-To-Belly" sales guy from waay back. I've created many "Money-Making" programs (I look for opportunities rather than JOBS)

One of my programs is "Ad Flyers on Pizza Boxes"! I've done this program with 10 Pizzerias over the last 3 yrs.

I make up a 8 1/2 by 11 Flyer on Glossy Stock....the pizzeria has the middle and there's room fo 12 Ads around the edges. These are FREE to the pizza place and I charge $195 to $295 per as space, depending on what kind of town I'm in.

A friend told me he was "at his wits end to come up with a way to make some bux" and....did I have any ideas. So....I knew he had some sales experience selling ads for a local Radio Station....but....Radio Ad Sales are tough to sell (these days)...so....yesterday morning (Thurs) I asked him to meet me at the StarBucks Coffee Shop at 8:30am.

I showed him my "Pizza Box Flyer" progam (This is an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet on glossy stock with 12 FULL Color ads) In Small Towns I sell these ads for $195 ea. Bigger towns for $295.

I told him I'd like to try a small town of 3,200 people about 10 mi South.

He said, "Let's Go!" So....at 9:30am we started making calls, just walking into businesses, looking for the owner....handing him/her my Demo Box and Flyer...telling them how their ad (in Full Color) would be seen, (NO pages to turn) by people who bought pizza.

We took about an hour for lunch and by 2pm...we had sold 12 ads for $195 ea ($2,340)....in a town of 3,200 people.

The cost would be about $300 so....we NETTED $2,000 for the day.

To say my friend was excited would be an under statement. He's ready to go out on his next day off and .....make $2,000 on his own. Granted, yesterday...I made the first 6 sales and he got the last 6....which proved to him....HE could do this! Go into a strange town and walk out with 2 Grand under his belt.

So....thanks for letting me share my success.

Don Alm....Sales Guy

Thats what I was wondering, not really 2k profit if you had to print $800 of postcards. Still impressive though.

Give the pizza guy 10 or 20% (or any figure of your choice that's bad to miss out on) of what you make on your sales!?!

Nope! In 5 yrs of dealing with Pizzerias I've NEVER had to pay them a dime!

          No need to. I'm doing them a favor by providing a way for them to;
          1) Get REPEAT ORDERS from their customers
          2) Get MORE business from local businesses

And....if that's not enough for a Pizza Guy to agree to stick MY Flyers on his boxes....I have 2 additional "Motivators".

      I have Recorded some of my Sales Interviews;

      1) Interviews with 2 Pizza Shop (A Little Caesar's and a Figaro's) owners where I walk in Cold-Turkey.... explain to them what I'm doing and would they let me provide them with my Flyers
      and
      2) Interviews 3 business owners where I walk in Cold....explain what I'm doing...How it will benefit them (more business) and what I charge (1 interview took "90 Seconds from the time I walked in the door to when the owner whips out his check book and writes me a check)

I'm debating whether to offer these as a WSO.....IF people here would be intersted in hearing ACTUAL SALES INTERVIEWS where Sales are made.....as if YOU were there standing next to me as I gave me "pitch".

Make your 12 Adverts contain coupons for the businesses that are advertising with you so then they see and realise how many customers it draws in through their doors and then they will be kicking your door down to advertise with you again!

It's easy proof of ROI for the advertiser which is what they all want to see and if you deliver you are guaranteed repeat business.

We done this with an auto parts store and placed a coupon for 10% off motor oil on there and he had so much business from one add he is hooked and after being "ripped off" by other coupon providers beginning with G they are over the moon with our solutions.

Hope it helps inspire your ads

            Something I don't understand...

What keep the owners from putting their flyers inside? Would it be easier for them to print their own flyers, free from other people's ads?

This is a great idea, but now you just have to get the pizza staff to actually put them on the boxes. I have an SMS client that can't even get his staff to stuff a card in the pizza box with the SMS ad on it.

Many of these types of promotions are at the mercy of the staff on the front lines. And they really want to do as little work as possible. Get them to actually do it and you are more than half way home. If they don't consistently, you might have a few pissed off business owners if they see pizza boxes that don't have their ad glued to the front of the box that they paid for.

I have been doing my "Pizza Box Flyers" for about 4 yrs now....with 14 Pizza Shops and....NOT ONE has had employees that did NOT....do what their BOSS told them to do..."Stick The Flyers ON THE BOXES!"

Gimmee a break! These are "minimum wage" workers. If their Boss tells them to do something....they do it!....otherwise they're out the door looking for another JOB.

If you look at Don's picture .. the pizza shop gets free flyers that highlight their daily specials - their own coupons - menu - whatever.

In my town we have many more mom and pop pizza shops than mainstream and all utilize their box tops for menus coupons specials etc. It's a win-win situation. You are saving the pizza shop owner the cost of creating their own flyers plain and simple. They are receiving value from allowing you to give them the flyers for their boxes.

This would work for any type of delivery based food shop - chinese, wing shop, sandwich shop, etc.

I think this would work really well with a little independently owned pizzeria that's close to where I used to live, they make the most delcious pizza, but have no online presence whatsoever. I've been meaning to contact them. This may be a foot in the door.

The pizzeria gets the middle of the flyer? In other words, they have some space to promote a coupon on the box they're already giving to their customers? So the benefit to them is they save the half a penny or so on printing their own coupons though they have to pay for the time their workers take to attach the flyers? There's gotta be more to this...

Too bad we haven't heard more about this any more.

Maybe Don is working on putting this into a WSO? I would buy it straightaway, to find out about the magic sticky tape, and also what would convince the pizza owner to say yes.

Here they hand out their leaflets with menu and order information anyway with each home delivered pizza, so just putting their ad onto the carton would be not too much to offer...

This is a simple idea I have seen you talk about several times. I have two questions though.
    (1) How many flyers do you offer the pizza shop for free?
    (2) How do you stick those darn flyers on the box? Do they come with an adhesive backing?

    Thanks,

If I try to sell a website to a biz owner....it is just little ol' me trying to persuade the biz owner he'll get a good deal!

BUT....if I am selling Ads on a Restaurant Menu or....Ads on a Hotel Map Board....it is ME....(now watch this and remember)...AND the Restaurant or me AND the Hotel I'm working with.

Same with Pizza Places; It is me AND the Pizza Place offering to place Ads on the Flyers. So....business owners think, "OK! The owner of the pizza place has allowed Don to provide him with Flyers! The Pizza Place owner TRUSTS Don to do the Flyers so...I guess I should too!"

Can you see the psychology here? This is powerful! They TRUST the Pizza Place owner so....he trusts Don so...I should too!

Also...I do 5,000 to 10,000 at a time and they are just stuck on with a piece of tape. However, there is an "inside secret" as to what kind of tape to use because there is something I tell each advertiser that CONVINCES them to participate.

This plan is very cool, plus you can also sell the same customer on the 9x12 flyer later on!

What I m wondering though(appart from the tape part...) is who design each ad?

I can easily create the final flyer, but each ad would make it more complicated for me.

Hope you can clarify on how you handle this!

There is already a very similar WSO http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...u-italian.html

I honestly find this WSO much more professional than just sticking a flyer on the pizza box.

Just making sure I understand your idea.
You give pizza boxes to pizzaria for Free after placing other merchants ads on them. And these same merchants pay you for featuring their ads. Am I right?

Say that's accurate, what kinds of merchants are these and how do you approach both the Pizzeria and the merchants?

    Your answers are greatly appreciated.

I really like this idea. I used to work in a pizzaria myself a long time ago.

The main concern I have about this method is the moment where the flyer should be put on top of the box. There has to be like a really good method to put them on in one movement. It is always hectic in pizza places that deliver and they want the pizza's out ASAP.

So any insight or tips from people how to make sure the flyer is added to the box in a fast motion?

I wanted to add that a weekly newspaper here, which is delivered at every house. I believe 125.000 pieces it will cost you like 130 euro's for a 5CM by 5CM add. Large reach.

I am friends with a pizza shop owner that does 75% delivery. He has a guy making boxes every day - he also has sent out menus on his box tops for 15 years - so in most places it's not an issue. If the boss says it - the boxes get the box topper flyer. Just how it is.

There is a program out there, and has been for a while.
It's called Pizza Money Blueprint by Gina Gray

The front end int needed if you get the jist of what the concept is.
    I think it's $97

The backend is a monthly program, that gives you the scripts, and agreements.
So, you have an agreement saying that the pizza shop will place the flyers on the boxes.
And you have an agreement for each advertiser.
That is $27 a month. Also, you get access to a forum.

The way to get the attention of a business is, after you sign on a pizza place, get an empty pizza box.
Then when you walk in cold to a business, they see the pizza box and you get their attention.
It also serves as a place to hold your agreements.

Gina says to get two pizza places at the same time, about 5-10 miles apart.
This way, if a business doesn't know or like one, they will the other.
At the same time, allows you to make twice as much.

The selling points: let's say you are selling it for $295
The business owner will get their ad distributed for under $0.03 per prospect.
Some people will put these flyers on the fridge, for the coupons. So the ads will be seen over and over, every time the prospect goes to the fridge. Then once the coupon is redeemed, the prospect gets a new flyer and the cycle starts over.

You want a place that goes through at least 300 pizzas a week.
300 x 4 weeks = 1200 flyers a month. At this rate, the more pizza they go through, the faster the campaign will end. The sooner you can start another.

    Don,

Will this method be ever released as a WSO?

Also do you have signed agreements with the pizza place and the 12 other businesses that advertise?

So is the $200-$300 that you charge each business is that for just one month's distribution of flyers or a more specific number of flyers that will go out?

Lol, didn't know the exact wording for it.

But it's what you put after your name. A hash tag usually has a # after it

Brik- found it funny when you changed it each time

    Hey Don,

When your getting the pizza guys to sign on to distribute the flyer you mentioned that you had some 'no-brainers' to get them to sign up. Is this an adhesive that you supply them to attach the flyers? Is it just scotch tape?

    Thank you!
