How do I position an offline marketing firm? (Need Resources: books, WSO etc)

I have read countless ebook and came across post where the author says how important it is to position yourself in the marketplace. I totally believe this but the only problem I have is that they never tell you how to do so. Or if they do tell you its insufficient. From my research into books I have found only two books that were mainly theory and did not provide a guide.

I would like to know where can I find this answer?

All I need is someone to guide me to the resources and I can do the rest.

Please feel free to make suggestions

Tell your client you are new, but have a team to back you.
You are committed to helping them succeed and will bend over backwards to handle their needs, not to mention a discount.

If you are already knowledgeable on what you are offering, it will help in positioning.

    I've been reading this book:

The Marketing Agency Blueprint: The Handbook for Building Hybrid PR, SEO, Content, Advertising, and Web Firms by Paul Roetzer

Google it and check it out. I'm finding it informative, thorough and helpful. Better than any WSO I've seen.
