A few days ago, a friend of mine launched his own service company. This is a new company, built from the basis and he needs more idea about offline marketing. I can give him advice about online marketing, but I have no experience in offline marketing. Can you give me the ideas?

First thing that will bring the quickest and best results would be to create a website and get him registered with all business directories.

Make sure Google Analytics is installed on the site so you can see where the traffic is coming from.

I had a roofer client that got quite a lot of business from sites like Homestars and Yellowpages.

Next I would get him setup with Bing, Yahoo! and Google Plus Local. Get that ball rolling now because it takes some time to get the verification PINs in the mail.

Be sure to set him up with YouTube, Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter... you aren't necessarily going to start marketing on these platforms yet, but having them filled out and linked to each other will help with SEO when you start that for him.

After you have the base established, you need to get him ranked for Google Plus Local. That's where the calls are. If he has the budget, you can do an adwords campaign for him to generate some quick leads. Once he's page one, he can continue there if the ROI is good, or you can just work on his Google Plus Local listing.

If you can give some more detail regarding the service and the budget he may have, I'd be happy to give more specific resources to get the above done.

    Cheers

I find it odd that the dude in the comment above me detailed out a comprehensive online marketing plan when you specifically said you need an offline one...

Anyway. Offline is just the basics. Run ads with very big, clear simple messages such as "double your business!"

You can do cold calling as well. it might seem tough but its really the most effective way.

Trade shows when possible. he doesn't have to exhibit, but he should go and network as much as possible. When he can afford to, tell him to be an exhibitor. thats where all real sales come from.

local radio works too, keep it below 500 words and repeat the phone number 3 times at least.

my favorite book on teh subject is "the ultimate sales machine" by chet holmes. great read.

Oops... I didn't read it that way. When I read "offline marketing," I think "online marketing for offline businesses," as opposed to online marketing for online ventures like affiliate marketing, etc.

That's the general theme for this entire sub-forum, so I hope my mistake isn't too shocking LOL

    my bad

Without knowing more about his business and niche it's hard to come up with ideas outside of the typical build a website that's able to capture leads. Google places.. Flyers, maybe some ppc etc..
