Creating Website Mockups/Demos

Hi Warriors,

I've read some fantastic threads about creating website mockups before or after cold calling, or doing a direct mail piece.

I'm curious the best way to approach this regarding the hosting/setup side of doing this. I know that a subdomain can be created to house the mockup, and I've read where WP Multi-site can be used.

What is the best/most efficient way to do mockups? Any hints, tips, knowledge is much appreciated!

I've been making demos/mockups for clients for several months now with great success. Find a theme that is easy to customize and change. Get to know the in's and out's of your theme, as this will be used quite often when making duplicates. There are plugins out there that can easily duplicate a theme. Simply change the name, and content and a demo has been made!

Do you install on a custom subdomain for each prospect...like raysplumbing.localbusiness.com

How do you handle the hosting side of the demo.

      Appreciate ya

Yes exactly, and when they are ready to set it up on their own domain I transfer over the files and database.

I do the same but not with a subdomain. Just put the site in a directory. I also use WP Twin to move them.

No need for subdomain, just create a folder:

    yoursite.com/demosite1
    yoursite.com/demosite2

    Then install WP manually.

If you use fantastico, just create a folder demosite1

Moving WP site, use Backup Buddy, WP Twins and WordPress › Duplicator « WordPress Plugins
