I'm looking to write a book on the top 10 ways to built MLM/Network Marketing Business, Any Ideas?

Hi guys,

I want to position myself as a network marketing expert as I prepare for my first endeavour into that line of business. I'm looking for 10 topics to write about that I can package as a book and give away to potential downline members for free. I'm just looking for ideas (IE How to dominate conventions, how to pitch to friends and family, how to be a network marketing expert, how to keep your downline in the business etc.. things like that)

I also am limited in terms of travel because I have a disability and lack mobility, so any from home ideas would be great!

I've been a network marketing professional for more than
30 years. Do what you like but this is not the way to build
    a successful network marketing business.

Why would you attempt to position yourself as something
you aren't? If you do succeed in sponsoring a few people
they will know you're not the expert the first time they meet
someone who is. What do you think they'll do then?

Very interesting Tsnyder. Certainly not the easiest business. I am neither against nor for MLM. To me it's another business model that humans invented with flaws, like everything else. I know that many will show up and tell you about the numbers not being right, etc. but still.

What would you say is the biggest NO NO for someone that is starting a new business like this?

I think that MLM companies should get rid of:

      - high pressure tactics
      - sect-like atmosphere at conventions/meetings (almost fanatical)

I've been to a few presentations and this where the biggest turn-offs for me. As soon as it starts smelling like some "creepy sect" I stand up and leave, no matter how good the product and how much money I could make.

I don't know why some companies resort to this kind of methods, because some of them have honestly good products, plugged into some really trashy marketing systems.

I agree 100%. I wish I could wave a magic wand over the
business and eliminate all the charlatans and over-hyped BS.

The funny thing about those who use pressure tactics is they don't
work... unless the goal is one time commissions on initial product sales.
If so... there's a whole lot more money to made made selling almost
        anything else.

If long term residual income is the goal pressure is a waste of time
and is one of the main reasons for the high fall out ratio. Let's face
it, the barrier to entry in MLM is very low. Low enough that many times
people will buy in just to get out of the room... LOL

I've spent many years honing my craft and developing what I consider
to be a high level of professionalism. I understand the business model
100% and understand the need to sponsor fewer people but train them
        better than anyone else.

You really don't need an army to make substantial income in MLM.
You just need the right soldiers with the proper training....

The fact is successful MLMers understand that we're really in the
business of developing leaders. Everything else revolves around that.

Thanks for this post. This makes it interesting if you love to work with people and have the skills to form a team. Instead of an "army" you are more for building "the Navy SEALS of MLM"

Good job. I've read your pdf from your signature. Well recommended to anyone looking into this business. Good read!

I don't mean to be rude, but don't you already know the top ten ways to make money in an MLM? I wouldn't position myself as an expert until I was an expert.

As an option you could use right now, just interview someone who is an expert in MLM. Create a short book around that, and give it away. A CD is cheaper and will be consumed by more people.

Why not have someone interview you and record it? Talk about what you already know that works, things you do now. Good luck.

Ouch guys, yes I am a beginner but I noticed the people at the top of these MLMs write books or get interviewed in the media etc... I'm not saying I know everything about MLM but I have some ideas..perhaps expert is the wrong word, maybe I could just write from a skeptics perspective, or partner with an expert and do a Q&A book, questions from a novice and answers from the expert, or write about my journey as an MLMer journal styles...DAY 1 I got started...DAY 30 sponsored first client...DAY 365 MADE $15K my first year etc...???

Maybe write a book for beginners because every single MLM person is a beginner or was. If you really made $15,000 your first year, you have something to teach. Just don't present yourself as something you are not. You'll get bitten pretty quick.

Even having a marketing idea in the first place means you are thinking.

Just know that having a book printed for you will be at least $2 in quantity. Or you can use Create space on Amazon at no cost to you..except maybe $4.50 a copy in any quantity.

      Good luck.

They didn't get to the top because they wrote books and
got interviews... the wrote books and got interviews because
they made it to the top. They had something to say that people
      actually wanted to hear.

The best possible advice I can give you is to just get to work and
build your business. This isn't like selling ebooks on the internet.
If you opened a new gas station would you write a book about
gas stations or would go focus on building your business.

In the time you waste researching and writing a book you could
build a sizable group and establish a solid customer base. That's what
this business is about... customers and distribution channels.

Focus on those things and you can become wealthy beyond anything
you think is possible today. Get distracted and you'll end up another
statistic and probably be on this forum in a year telling everyone that
      MLM sucks.

      It doesn't.

And you wonder why you don't wanna trust people on the warrior forum.

This is like saying, I want to write a book on being a NFL Superbowl winning coach. When you've never even played the game much less won a Superbowl.

Go win a Superbowl, then write a book.
