$10.00 seems like a lot of money for a single lead...

Market yourself with the clothes you wear. Custom embroidered jackets and embroidered polo shirts can build brand identity every day.

I used Thumbtack.com leads for a while ($14.99/mo) but they all suck. Mostly tire kickers or people that want an ecommerce site and SEO for like $150 a month.

I purchased leads that were supposedly double opt in warm leads for a targeted market. All tire kickers. Wasted good money.

I have in the past, however don't use it as your only source of business.

    Leads are only opportunities.

Elite salesmen will close 30% of leads in most industries; good salesmen 20% to 25%.

I'll pay $25-$35 all day long for a batch of leads I can close 20% to 25% of the time on a $1000 website.

Instead of leads, we purchase new business lists and work those. A simple visit and introduction with occasional follow-up will result in sales.

For that matter, even a lumpy envelope with a decent intro letter and a follow up phone call gets your foot in the door for a warm visit with these lists.

These lists are of course sold as "leads" but imo they only qualify using the widest possible definition of the word. Nevertheless, it's by far the best face to face system we use.

one of the reasons i ask is i have a bunch of clients that i've built free facebook pages for (they didn't have one). i figure they'd be good leads for offliners to sell more services to (i'm not really in that business). so, i'm just wondering what they'd be worth.
