How about calling craigslist advertisers?

I know they typically say that it is "not ok to contact" for other services, but why not call them.

It would be just like getting a list from somewhere else, except you know these are small businesses looking for more business.

So, curious, and experience with calling on craigslist ads and offering web services?

Why not just advertise your services on CL?

Most advertisers on CL don't respond to things because of the huge amount of spam.

When I was younger and was working for a door-to-door sales company one of the first things I remember being tought was that if you see a no soliciting sign on the home owners door that means they are an easy sale because they don't know how to say no , so I say this is the same case online when most people or businesses say do not contact for other service, so I say just don't mention you got their number from craigslist and just make your sale pitch about them and what you can do for them, the worst that can happen is they hang up on you or tell you they are not interested and don't call again, it a numbers game.

      I wish you much success,

      Martin

I used to go to those doors too... the way around it was to go to a different doorf.
Usually they had the sign on the front door where the salesmen go, so I would go to the side door where the friends and family go.
Business to business... I wasn't a salesmen, I was a wholesaler. I could help your business at wholesale prices. Those signs were for salesmen.

        At the OP...
There are companies that are looking for help for online marketing services.

The "it's OK for others to contact you" has to be checked. So, by default, the "it's NOT OK for others to contact you" is going to show up. Most people are in a hurry when posting an ad, and don't bother with it.

Like Martin said, it really is a numbers game. Even if someone hangs up on you, they're not likely to report you, (as long as you weren't rude!). I only have ever reported obvious spam, never someone who is legitimately trying to promote a service.
