Help with product launch phases...

Hi my smart friends... I have a recent health product launch that is going well. Its a supplement and we are doing an aggressive 11 page letter direct mail campaign. The lists and niche are huge, Im confused as to why its just us. :-) Anyway here's my question. We don't want to stop here, we want to follow up with retail and infomercial etc.. but not necessarily in that order. Does anyone know of a good book, or story or launch sequence that we could read about or learn from so that we have a semi-road-map. Any tips would be greatly appreciated - thanks!!

Mark

Ive sold supplements via direct mail and had some success also... so i know if the lists are huge and profitable you shouldtotally exploite those names first for all their worth and then move on to another way to deliver you message like space ads, newspapers, internet, infomercials, ect

if you really feel that you want to move on to another way of delivering you message while still sending letters to the lists... then i highly suggest that you start running space ads in magazines that are targeted to your niche... then the internet.... then newspapers... infomercials are very expensive to produce and geting the networks to run it is a nightmare because all the big boys and girls that run infomercials (example guthy reinker) have all the space bought up for years... they make it so you have to use them to launch infomercials

but if you truly feel your product suits infomercials and will sell to such a general market and make you a profit and you have big money it is possible to make the infomercial thing happen

i hope your following up with a good back end series

as for books on the subject there is not just one book that will cover this i learned from years of studying all of gary halberts stuff, Dan kennedy, john carlton and many others have a collection of material worth seriously over $100,000... along with my own experiences....

the best advice i can give you is to milk the mail for as long and as hard as you can make sure to incorporate a back end and that could make you millions alone that is if you supplement does what you say it does(but thats another story)

    congrats on you success btw

john is great for copywriting... i recomend the simple writing system it has pretty much everything john teaches in one course... also license to steal is good too he tells you exactly how to take 5 of his ads and make them fit your niche without changing most of the copy.... but maybe its just my style for overall marketing and copy i go gary halbert all the way....

some others you should look at are clayton makepeace and gary bencivenga they are arguably number 1 and 2 copywriters in the world today... bencivenga being number one

I would suggest you test out banner advertising online first to see what responses you get

then whichever banner ad gives you a great response then test put that in an ad in a newspaper and test to see if you get the same results.

the reason I would do it this way is it is cheaper to start online, than it would be in a newspaper.

this way when you do put the ad in a newspaper you at least know that it is a good ad and creates a response.

the mail is always the best and cheapest way to start in my experience it gives you impact and it gives you a way to reach a person who has already bought a similar product in the past through the same method your trying to get him to buy through and when he starts to read your message it is just you and him, no distractions no youtube, no facebook, no porn lol, well you get the picture.... Direct mail still to this day is king... and for return on investment and profit potential you can not beat it...

It should take you a long time to run thru all the health related SRDS and nextmedia list. Then I would look into media buys (online) you can easily get a million impressions a day.

I like the ambition but how much do you need LOL.

The nice thing about big media buys is the net 90 day terms. It might be 25K a day to buy the front page of MSN but the bill doesn't come due for three months

thanks guys, hey Jayspann can the media buys on MSN be for clicks and not impressions? How would I get my 60+ crowd?

MSN is a direct media buy. You might be thinking of adcenter. They dont have a lot of traffic but its a great place to tweak PPC ads for not a lot of money.

If you doing well and know your numbers I would contact a company like Eagle Web Assets or Connect2Media and let them use their army of affiliates promote your offer.

Those are just examples you could use whatever company you wanted.

    Mark,

If you're saying that nobody else is in your market, that can be a warning sign. One of the best indicators of a good market is healthy competition. If nobody is in it, it can be one of two things: 1. You're the first. 2. Others have tried and given up on it.

    It's 2 a lot more than it's 1.

I think he was just saying... what aren't more people doing this... like I would say, "why am I the only one that want's to lock the Kardashians in trunk?"

When in reality EVERYONE wants to lock them up.

There is no shortage of people in the supplement market - buyers or sellers
