Offline web promotion?

Hey, I am thinking of printing some 5000 cards - like business card size (with and advertisement on one side and calendar on another). And leave them at many places like university, school etc... My business is free web hosting services so schools and universities are good place for a traffic income. Has anyone tried this type of advertising?

    Your idea is good but my opinion is I don't think so it will be helping or useful for advertising it to schools and universities...

    Why not? As school members uses internet and university students gets some projects they need to publish. I am not sure I got your point, please advice?

    Not all of them offer this, also I was there too, and our university hosting was so bad that I bought a paid hosting instead. Anyway, will see how it goes

    Last year I bought a WSO here. Part of the content was basically the same idea as you have. Hosting was not one of the options though. Things like CPA offers and list building was more of the focus.

    In my experience it was a bit too slow. I had 21 participants (someone who took action based on the card offer) in a little over 10,000 cards handed out.

    It may work well with the right offer.

    With school just getting started again for the year, I wouldn't sit on this idea early. You need to grab them with your service prior to them getting established using something else.

    I've tried something like this, only with a different kind of service. I actually built a list this way.
    It can work, just provide value and keep in touch with them.

    I believe distribute flyer will bring larger effect because it capture more attention then placing namecard. Namecard is easy to lost and forget due to small size.

    You can also promote your service offline. Just find the right prospects, like owners of small businesses near your place. Most small businesses are not yet willing to invest big in professional paid hosting since they are just starting out, so they are perfect target for your business.

    It can work but make sure that those school/universities need/interested with your product. And update yourself to them like building relationship in order for them to trust you a lot .
