If the prospect goes on a long rambling monologue

    LOL interesting question, for me it would depend on how much information I was getting from their monologue, if it's not helping us focus on why we're on the call to start with and if it's definitely not going to help close the sale (by your use of the word script I assume this is a sales call, possibly cold calling right?) If so I would find a way to politely step back in. If I find they really need some help with what they were rambling on about, I'd offer to consult with them in person/over the phone at a later date we agree on and at an hourly rate. Then I would get back to what the call was about. The key is to be polite and subtle about the "take over"
