Should I name my marketing company after the locale where I live? Let's say, for instance I live in Gaysville. So should I name the company Gaysville Marketing.

I'm thinking that by having the name in the business name it may increase trust. My city is already branded in a way, because people are familiar with it. If that's the case that may transfer to my business.

Whereas a new business has to overcome objections in and of itself, just because it's new.

Opinions?

In my opinion, nothing wrong for naming your company. A brand make a trust bridge between company and clients.

I would do a google search for "unique business names". That should give you a starting point and some background on why some names stick and some fail.

I would say yes, and also - if your are going to promote it online too - you can use only company's name and people will find it when they search for, say, marketing firm in Gaysville.

I think it depends on what your plan is.

If you plan to target local/regional business it will be a plus.
If you plan to target nationally it will be a bust.

      I agree with this.
What is your goal for the business?
      What is your exit strategy?

Besides that Gaysville Marketing could always be the name of the parent company.
Personally I would shy away from that, but it depends on your goals and exit strategy.

Personally, I would name your company something catchy and cool...so do NOT use the word SEO or any of that stuff.

Something like "FIREDONG" or something. Well...not that one, but you get it.

I just think something short and to the point is good for when you are telling people about your company. It may stick in their mind better than "city SEO services" or whatever a lot of people are doing.
