Just wanted to share a story that happened this week and thought it was kinda out of the blue, but a powerful reminder to myself (and hopefully others) that increasing your awareness and never making assumptions will produce positive results!!!

Backstory:

My youngest sister is in university and needed to buy a new computer table She found one on Craigslist that she liked but the seller asked to be called during a time when my sister had class.

Being the nice older sister that I am, I agreed to give the seller a call on my sister's behalf.

When I called the seller, I got her voicemail. Expecting to hear the typical personal voicemail greeting, I was surprised to hear that the seller actually ran a commercial cleaning business.

Needless to say--my first thought: I wonder if she does online marketing...

When I finally got the call back from the seller, she told me that the table was sold but I didn't end the call there..I mentioned that I heard in her voicemail that she runs a commercial cleaning business and started asking questions about that...

It was such a casual and informal conversation but the end result: I discovered that she needs a website and wants to learn more about online marketing and what I do. I sent her a video review and just got an email back from her asking to schedule a follow-up.

My point is, increase your awareness about potential opportunities that are right in front of your nose--regardless of the situation, person, time of day, geographical location, etc. and you never know where opportunity lies.

I could have easily assumed that she already had a website and didn't need my services but you never know, until you ask...and definitely don't be afraid to share with others what it is that you do and how you can help.

So my sister didn't get the table..but hey, if I close this deal..I told her I'll buy her one as a "referral fee"

Most people don't understand that simply talking about what you do, can get you sales. Leads are everywhere! Nice job preeti.

So true...just start spreading the word--this has worked with me even with just telling friends what I do...reaching out to past colleagues, managers, contacts, etc. and giving them an "update" on what I'm doing these days..

You just never know who is in need of your services, when is the right time for them to buy and where you can connect with your next client..

Don't be afraid of sharing with others the value that you bring to businesses and owning what you really do.

I truly believe if you come from an angle that you're in the business of HELPING others..the conversation and energy is totally different than just typical "wham, bam thank you ma'am/sir sales".

Business without brand awareness earns nothing. It very essential for any business to create positive associations with the product. It brings loyal customers and always boost the sales of the company.

There is something magical that happens when you set the intention and are committed to what you do - your acute sensory mechanism takes over in the ability to unconsciously attract opportunities that you are now consciously able to act upon.

This is a great story Preeti. Thanks for sharing.

It has happened to me a lot of times so far. I haven't always closed the sale but sometimes the opportunity is standing right under your nose.

2 months ago, i moved to my new home. Some day, i noticed a flyer about a cleaning service right in front of my door. I didn't get to do anything with it at the time. I just picked it up and left it at my desk.

3 days after, i was looking for my notepad in my desk, so i ran into this flyer again. I have entered the URL and saw a really old website.

I gave them a call.We discussed for about 15 minutes. We closed an appointment. We had a deal.

A new website(template) plus SEO services. Total worth of services : 3200$

I would have never made any money if i hadn't call them.

    True story.

Love hearing stories like this. Kinda reminds me of this thread I wrote awhile back:
    http://www.warriorforum.com/offline-...-prospect.html

iAmNameless put it nicely. Leads are everywhere! Thanks for the reminder about increasing awareness. Definitely a solid tip for those around the forum. Take opportunities as you see them and you'll be surprised with the result a lot of the time.
