I am in video hell. Does anyone have a flame-proof rope?

This is not strictly an offline question, but everyone knows the offline forum is where the smart people hang out.

I'm working with some great writers. Helping them put together this groundbreaking product on how to get your screenplay noticed in Hollywood. We have all the videos shot. We have a soloblast going out to 110,000 screenwriters.

I can't get the video to play across all browsers. I have it in FLV format. I've embedded flowplayer in Wordpress. It will play on Firefox and Chrome but shows a black or white screen and audio in IE.

We're pulling our hair out.

There are a couple possible problems (IE and Netscape based browsers like different kinds of code, we might need to force people to upgrade to the most recent flash player).

Is there something easy and obvious I'm missing that would give me high quality video and just work?

    I apologize if this is stupid...but I've always uploaded the videos to Vimeo and embedded the player where I need it. Not once have I had issues with it.

      Thanks Max. We're considering that. If we abide by TOS, it's $200 since we're using this for commercial purposes.

    Try: Setup Wizard | LongTail Video | Home of the JW Player

    Click on "File properties" and insert the direct link the the .flv and see if it plays in IE.

    I deal with a lot of video streaming sites, if you want you can PM me the URL and I can take a look.
