A Small issue with offline marketing

Hi guys, I am trying my hand on offline marketing. I have got a coach, I have been in IM for 3 years, I know Ins and Outs of IM, I have web designer friends here in India who can make beautiful websites for very economical price.

I am from sales background, I don't fear cold calling. Every thing is on the positive side. But there is one small issue that is creating problem when people see I am from India they don't respond to my emails

The thing is I am from India, and here there is not that big scope for offline marketing.

I wish if only I could been from UK or US, or had some friend there who could just handle the marketing while I handle the operations, then things would have been much different.

Your best bet would be to provide SEO services online so Offline marketers could outsource to you. It's hard getting offline clients without ever meeting the face to face

I have heard cases where people have got clients on phone. Nothing is impossible.

It's NOT hard to get clients without a meeting face to face.
I close deals across the country via phone and email. So, that problem is out the window.

You need credibility. Why should I do business with you when you're in India?
You need to educate people on why they should do business with you over someone else.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but how many people are going to buy marketing services from a guy calling them from India ?!

It all depends on how much you charge, I doubt you can close a 2k+ per month client on the phone.

          That's your ignorance speaking.
          My services START at $5,000

I know others, here on the forum, that close deals over $30k on the phone.

Just because you don't do it, doesn't mean it can't be done.

With so many people in India, why don't you offer services there?

I thought you said in your other thread you planned to offer in India not the US or UK.

As I said a few threads back there is a bias in the US against asians taking our jobs. And small business owners in the us tend to fall in the demographic where this is most likely to be the case.

If you wish to target the US your best bet is to hire a US based cold caller or at least someone who can fake a US accent. Once they are sold or appointment set it is ok to have the tech guy call have an accent as many here are used to that. You just have to make them believe you are all in America.

Rather it is fair or not it is simply the reality of our culture.

Of course you can cold call the US and play the percentages. A certain percentage are ready to buy no matter what and you will close them.

Are you just targeting the US?

Have you tried targeting Canada? There are a ton of Indian Immigrants here so we are more used to them and I think probably more open to doing business with people from India.

    Just a thought.

Oh, and if not Canada, then what about the UK, or mainland Europe?

The US is not the only market there is.

What you could do is start in Canada, or another country, and then leverage that experience to get you into the US.

Another thing, what about targeting Indian Immigrents who have businesses in the US. Would they be more open to hiring someone from their own country?
