How Much to Outsource Website Development?

Hello all,

So I'm at the point where I don't have enough time to develop websites for my clients. My current method for building websites is to provide CMS solutions to my clients by powering the websites with WordPress.

I was wondering how much would it cost me in average to outsource a WordPress website? The person outsourcing would need to install WordPress, setup a theme and plugins, add a child theme for customizations, setup pages, seo, opengraph facebook, etc. How many hours in average would it take to get a WordPress website up and running?

I was maybe thinking of hiring a virtual assistant full time, that way he'll be able to build the websites, and provide support too if I don't have any new projects to provide to him.

Instead of posting in the offline marketing discussion section, look and/or post in the warriors for hire and members looking to hire you sections because then you can actually get some quotes instead of throwing it in here where people may not even see it.

I don't want to outsource via the warrior forum, because most of them are middle men anyway and are outsourcing to the Philippines or other countries such as India.

I posted this thread here to get some opinions from other warriors that truly outsource their web development to people (i.e. from Philippines).

      Thanks though.

That is a very generalised statement. I know lots of people, myself included, who do all our own work and never outsource anything so that is why I suggested it but good luck anyway.

There are sites like osdesk and freelancer that has people, who do their own development work. You can try those.

Yes, thank you. But the question is not "where", but "how much". I'm just looking for perspective answers on how much would you usually pay (in average) to outsource a complete WordPress website.

Well ,I think it depends partly on what your charging.. from previous experience I've known some people who charged about $100 to set up a Wordpress blog. The process is pretty simple once you've done it a couple of times. I'm sure you can some workers for between for even $50 dollars. if you can make a 25%-40% profit on the transaction thats pretty good.

  • There's a new program now at onlinejobs.ph called the vetted workers program. They put the best VAs there with their skills and desired salary grade. Since you're looking for a VA with a very specific skill set and you want to hire directly, I think this is something that might help. Vetted Filipino Virtual Assistants - We recruit, test, and stand behind these workers

Odesk is awesome if you really spend the time finding a good contractor. We are offering solutions at $99 as we build our portfolio and have 5 spots left.

Totally depends. I am talking about Wordpress setup, plugins, customization etc

I know outsourcers from India that charge something between 70$-100$ and do a pretty good job and i know guys Americans and Europeans, that charge something from 300$-500$ and do a very good job.

It all depends on the quality.

You will get what you pay for.

Why don't you look into hiring VAs and teaching them how to develop websites. Only a good idea if you have a constant stream of websites to build

If you have a low budget or want to get your work done for cheap then you can outsource va from phillipines ,India or you can simply go to freelancer, odesk, elance, guru dot com and you will find a lot of ppl there offering these kind of services for a very low price.

really depends on how big the website you want to built, and also you need to have a very very specific plan and guide of all page appearance and functions, most of the time you need to draw some transcripts and you also need to be with your website developer all the time to explain what you need him to build for you.
