Those are a big waste of time... I found a site called networklarge.com and took my current book of referrals and created a group there.

It's worked out well for me because they invited some of their referral partners and we're all working together now.

      Wow... nice post.
Those aren't a big waste of time.
I am part of a networking group.
I found people spending big money on marketing, with no website.
Why? They couldn't find someone they could trust and or the last guy ripped them off.

I have it on good authority that Michael Nguyen went to his meeting...found the girl of his dreams, and is now vacationing on an island.

That would certainly explain the dead response to the posts here.

Of course, it was a breakfast meeting. Maybe the eggs were old and he got stomach cramps......

Michael Nguyen! Are you OK? Speak to us Michael Nguyen!

tell me mr vandenberg on a scale of 1 to 10 , how likely do you think it is that a warrior will stumble upon this scenario
Roll your eyes all you want to. You know nothing about me or what I do but somehow feel you can make educated assumptions. Whatever floats your boat.

Correct, they don't have a website.
A realtor, for example, had a website 6 years ago. He thought he was getting ripped off because everytime he wanted a quick update... 5 minute fix to me... he would get a bill in the mail for $25-$30. So, he wanted to stop working with the company. They owned the domain name. He hasn't. Had a website or worked with a web guy since. He has a FB page and emails links to listings from the MLS.

Want another? How about a home improvemnt company that has spent $200k since the beginning of the year on... the phonebook, tv, radio, billboards, and door hangers. He has brought in over a million as a result. NO WEBSITE!!!!! Let me repeat that... NO WEBSITE!!!!

How likely is it for another Warrior to encounter this same scenario? I have no idea.
Most never take any kind of action.. so 0% chance for them.
The ones that do, if they don't go to a networking group... 0% chance.
For the even smaller number of people that do join a networking group.... I have no idea.

These home improvement guys spent 200K a year on marketing? Okay, so a professional must have been advising them right? Because if your going to let go of $200K each year you want to make damn sure that it's spent on all the right things, correct? So if a professional is advising or overseeing these guys entire marketing strategy just please tell me how this professional didn't see the sense in adding a simple website and pulling in that all important online traffic?

I sincerely do hope that you can see why your story doesn't add up

So on a scale of 1 - 10, your answer would be 0 i assume? You could have saved yourself a whole bunch of time by just answering my original question. No need to splurt out a whole bunch of marketing talk that I can easily catch you out on.
Yup, the troll caught me.... the guy that spents the past two months in hiding and is full fledged marketing expert.
Why does he need a "professional" advising him? He can make educated decisions on his own based upon facts. He has been in business over 30 years. You know that old saying, if it ain't broke don't fix it?????
Well if not, some more trolling will find it.

I can't answer you question on a scale from 0-10... here we go with the uneducated assumptions again. Are you even familiar with networking groups and how they work? Apparently not.

You should only be a part of ONE networking group. The idea is to help others grow their business through referrals and strategic alliances. Plus, I only work with one business per industry. So, I am committed to helping those in my group succed.

I don't go join another networking group.... so how can I say what anothe r group is like or what another warrior might experience in another group? I can't because I don't know. I don't know what I would experience in another group. I am part of a larger group, similar to a chamber of commerce, and haven't had as good of results as I have with a small networking group.

So, I have a good experience, my clients have had a good experience, others on this forum have had a good experience.... BUT YOU ARE THE LOGICAL ONE...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

                  LOL!

I love how you take things out of context and then manipulate them in your own mind to come to some rash opinion.

I am done with you troll.
You are an idiot, as such the only thing you can do is bring me down to your level.
But, I did record a video for you early. You know, in all these posts you have promoting you as the expert.

I was trying to be helpful to the OP, I don't have to jusitfy my actions to you or anyone on this forum.

Oh right, one last thing. You see, this thread was about networking meetings.
That is where I met the home improvement guy... "allegdly"
                  Go back and re-read.

I'm part of a networking group for women in business, I've been to four or five meetings so far. Just from my group alone I've had an order for a full website plus hosting and maintenance, a redesign of an eCommerce website also moving to my hosting and maintenance, and have started SEO on another website.

What was quite surprising was the fact I started to work with really lovely ladies from other groups in other cites that I'd never met. One woman runs a marketing business and was looking for a Wordpress and SEO girl to work exclusively on all her websites. So far I've had two orders from her. From just one group in our biggest city four of them are my clients.

So I feel this is an important part of client acquisition, and a worthwhile point to bring up.

What is wrong with starting a thread to discuss something that is a valid aspect of running an offline business?

Oh and on top of that Mr. Kyser, I tell my clients to go to networking events to build strategic alliances. Who am I to tell them what to do if I don't practice what I teach? Oh, I know... a theory pusher!
As a reult, I get deals through them attending networking deals.
Would you listen to a doctor about getting new business when his business has gone from 5 calls a month to five new clients a month? You think he has an idea what he's talking about?
What if he then says it's a result of ME! You think that carries any weight Mr. Kyser?

Don't make uneducated assumptions about me... it doesn't benefit you any..!

I'm not part of a local networking group, but I am part of an Ohio Mastermind group of 17 business owners who study marketing. We meet once a month.

Maybe $200,000 in the last three years has come my way from that group with referrals, sales to members, booking speeches for their organizations and other business connections.

And I've helped the members in many ways too. Very powerful way to market, in my experience. In fact one member makes all his money from the group. I wouldn't want to put all my eggs in one basket like that, but it's a pretty good basket.
