What would you do for them?

Hi,

I met some people yesterday, they just opened a local brewery.

They sell to restaurants, shops and individuals. For marketing they plan to approach sports team and sponsor them.

But they would like to use FB to reach more individuals and create a fan base.

They already have a website made with wix, and they also have a fan page, with 8 likes...

We're almost neighbours, and they asked me how I could help them with facebook mainly.

I approached them for the 9x12 initially, which they re not interested in...

We live in a small area where the main town has like 8,000 ppl, and the whole area reaches to like 25k max. Lots of FB users though in the 15-35 yo.

I have 2 questions:

What would you do?
Is it risky to post their page here? (it s a french stuff by the way)

Hope this is not too confusing, and that someone can help me!

Thanks!

You shouldn't try to mine for gold where you know you ain't gonna find it.

I think you are trying to find something that isn't there.....
Don't try too hard to do something to get business from someone that doesn't need or want a specific service.

I see too many people come on here and ask these types of questions.
Move onto someone else that NEEDS you.

My advice.... move on and stop wasting time.

    Thanks Dave,

I understand what you say and I agree. Though they asked me what I could do to help them with FB. So it seems they want this service...

In an area with 25k total population, if FB excites them, maybe they feel it's a means of communicating with their local traffic for free and enhancing their business.

    Maybe:
Take it one step further... turn their site into a source of local news and events.. Daily or weekly blog posts that advise of community happenings.. If they are sponsoring a sports team, there's lots to talk about. A feedback section that allows limited response on event attendance.

Carry ads for their customers at low or no cost to the advertiser.. Run weekly specials with coupons or codes related to the site to prove site value to the owners and advertisers. Track site performance and coupon response. Get a retainer for making it happen for them and pay yourself from their increased business.
