Our customer has only 1 review & it is not showing up on their Google + / Places. How do you get the review to show up?

Thanks

Trust and Authority. You're experiencing a review filter. If the review was left on Google, then Google seems to have decided that this review is not relevant. Perhaps the review is left by someone closely tied in a social circle with the business in question. Perhaps the reviewer is a serial reviewer, or doesn't follow typical reviewing pattern.

Although less likely, it could also be the authority of the Google+ business profile. I'm assuming it's claimed, followed best practices and have a decent number of citations.

Like Scott said, it's probably temporarily ghosted by the Google algorithm. Continue to build reviews naturally and the algorithm should start to pick them up over time.

Well this was someone who had just signed up for G+ in order to give a review. I guess this is why it gets filtered out.

Google and Yelp are trying to figure out ways to keep fake reviews from posting on their pages. I have found that a user should have at least 10 friends and several reviews over a month or two before their reviews start appearing. Also, and this is HUGE, they need to access the reviews from a mobile device. Yelp is really starting to look for this.... check-ins and whether you use Yelp socially are making a big difference with them now. I've noticed a lot of my clients in the past trying to gain "fake" reviews now have a difficult time getting real reviews to stick and it seems that a negative review can float to the top and stay a lot easier... I'm not sure if this is Yelp's way of punishing them, but it is a tough lesson to learn. They had some other company before me that spammed fake reviews all over the place and now it's a mess getting them cleaned up.

Missing reviews on a G+ Local page could be for the reasons above, but it's possible that the listing is messed up a bit. Duplicate listings, multiple verified owners, NAP inconsistency, requested changes to the NAP of the listing... these are a few things that could result in ghosted reviews and other problems like rank drops and missing photos.
