Best way to show videos on wordpress sites?

Hey there -

Working with my 3rd client since getting started setting up webpages. They are a company that films a lot of sessions with their work....so lots of videos to show.

My question is this, on a wordpress site, what is the recommended or best way to present the videos on the site? Is it by creating and hosting the video on a YouTube channel or are their any really good plugins??

I have to say, this site is great, and you have all been very helpful thus far!!!!

Thanks,
Shaun

IMO, you should post the video on Youtube and embed it to the site. That way, you get traffic from the video on Youtube as well.

Yes it is suggestive that you post the youtube video on site by embedding it.

Post it on You Tube (create a company channel), optimize it for the search engines, then embed it on their WP site with Smart You Tube Pro (allows you control of display on the site).

I use ProPlayer. You can customize the size + use a custom image for the preview. The disadvantage is sometimes it doesn't display the video as if there's an error.

I used to use plugins but then with any wp update or new plugin you may activate, there's the chance that the video plugin won't work, and that's happened more than once to me. So now I just embed them just the way I like them rather than finding out they haven't been showing since I updated something and then going around to each and every post and page and changing code again.

save bandwidth and go to youtube...if you don't want videos in youtube make them unlisted and play them in wordpress...just check the box don't show related videos and use the code so they can't click on that video that takes them to the youtube...why make it complicated

that is what I do for most of my clients. Key thing here is to check the box, so it will not show the related videos when the video ends.
However, I use easy video player to host videos on amazon S3, when some clients do not want to host their videos on youtube. They think hosting their business videos on video share sites, like youtube or vimeo would lower their brand credibility. For those guys, i use easy video player. By the way, it is amazing. All my client love it.
