Question For Craigslist Experts...You know who you are!

Hi guys,

I have been learning (trying to anyway) about CL.

Been posting and testing...not nearly as much as I should but my life as it is, other things eat up my time...had just a few calls so far but may be closing a $500-700 website deal tomorrow.

But anyway, I am wondering about renewing ads. I go through some steps right now before posting ads:

Wait 10-15 minutes between posting ads, clear all my cookies, etc..............what I am wondering is if I need to go through all these steps when renewing the ads, the ads on the same CL account.

Any feedback from someone who knows is appreciated.

    Yes, same steps for renewing wait until you see your ad go live then post again.

      Thanks for the reply.....wait until the ad goes live before posting again, but what I was wondering is if you need to clear the cookies, etc, when it is the same CL account that you want to renew another ad for?

        No, you do not need to clear the cookies when the cookies are from the same login. You only need to clear the cookies when you're logging into a different account. There are few exceptions but I don't think you're doing the volume to need to worry about those exceptions. I also haven't been able to prove that those exceptions are true or not yet.

        Within the same account, when you hit renew, wait to renew another one until you actually see it posted on the category page.

        No you do not need to clear the cookies. If ad #1 is live you can re-post next one.

        Now, if you are trying to post and ad that was ghosted, it will still be ghosted when you re-post so just delete all ghosted ones and start over.

    Do these same rules apply for multiple accounts?

    I have a couple PVA that I want to use to post in multiple cities...do the same things work?
