Offline lead gen to an Online Offer

4 replies
Hi;

I'm handling the marketing for some real estate agent clients. Our goal is to build a list of people currently in the market for buying/selling a home, and also to nurture a list of people who may buy/sell soon in the future.

One technique would be to direct them to a free report online. I'd send them a postcard, and they'd visit my website to get the free report.

I've been told that this is generally inadvisable though--a demographic mismatch by hoping Average Joes will go to their computer and type in a website

If anyone's attempted this, did it work well for you?

    Instead of doing that why don't you try email marketing and follow it up telemarketing. Agree that you cannot ask an average joe to just go online and check it out. Since they are mostly online these days why not use online marketing?

    I think online marketing is a better option since you anyways want the individual to go on a site. Invest the same amount that you do on postcards into a few ads. It is very unlikely for someone to receive the postcard and then go online to check out the link. If you do this same thing online, you will get immediate results.

      Hey Delta223,

      You could use a QR code to get the prospects to your site and build a mobile list at the same time.

      Also, you could set up a mobile lead gen campaign so that when the prospect text a keyword to a shortcode the agent would get that lead immediately and can contact them right away to follow up!

      Let me know if I can help you with this!

        Besides this report, what else are you doing to initiate interaction
        with these prospects?

        Why not use a letter instead of a postcard and include some of the
        key ingredients of your report. The letter itself could bring you
        clients.

        I know this goes against the 'get them on your list', but is much
        better to 'get them as a client'
