SOCIAL PROOF Your CL ADS People! Its common sense but noones doing it..

I'm sure there are a few people doing it. But go take a look at your competitors, you might be suprised. I've clicked through about 100 ads on CL today and didn't find **1** competitor that was social proofed properly. Some will add lines in their text like "we've been in business for xxx years" but thats not going to cut it. Nor is that social proof in the first place.

I think a lot of people figure "well I have social proof on my website.. so why do I need it?"

If I have to answer that question, then you should stop posting on CL.

We closed a 4 kitchen remodeling job for a condo owner and the ad was social proofed to hell and back. Testimonies, facebook like button with lots of likes, angies list award, certifications, bbb logo, etc etc.

Find whatever social proof you can and get that stuff on your ads. It DOES make a difference. We had a slow week last week so this week I went insane with social proof, got a ton of ads up, and so far we have 4 jobs scheduled and 1 already closed.

When you realize how important this is, maybe you'll start actually doing it. If you already are (which I doubt) then good for you.

Just needed to remind folks.

Thanks - Red

This is a great reminder, thanks! I don't do CL ads... But i can think of a number of ways I can use this in my other ventures.

How do you implement the facebook likes... Just take a screenshot of that section on the facebook page?

Have you placed links to those "social proofs" or you just included pictures/icon on your copy? Or perhaps added pictures with screen shots?

Icons with links would prob be preferable but even including a screen shot and a link to the website would make you stand out, at least that is my thinking...
