If you had a crew of about 10 teenagers who are ready, able, and willing to go door to door.

What product or products would you have them sell?. Pizza cards?

Lol okay?. I dont have a remodeling company so that wont work. Plus these teens need toget paid based on sales.

      Any ideas.

I thought pizza cards, but not quite sure as howgood they would sell.

So contact a few dozen remodeling companies until you find one that needs more sales. The commissions could be huge. Much more than a pizza card!

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

Pizza cards are easier to train to sell, but this makes more money.

Years ago, I was in Florida and saw a specialty retailer selling nothing but built-in vacuum cleaner systems. I was in the business, so I stopped in to talk to the owner. (I had never seen a store just selling central vacuums) He had 3 built-in systems set up to demonstrate. Three price points. A clean display area, and a very nice "waiting room" with older people getting served soft drinks, sandwiches, and watching movies. This business was a machine.

While I was talking to him, three young men brought in couples to look at the central vacuums. I asked him about his business setup. And because I was from another state, he shared it with me.

He was sending 3 young guys door to door asking if they would like a free estimate on a central vacuum system. They would then take a few measurements, ask a few questions and then offer a gift (It was a good one) if the couple followed them back to the store.

I asked how much the young guys made. "$100 a couple. Whether they buy, walk out, whatever". He said he sold about 20%. The system (at the time) sold for a few thousand dollars. Most was profit.

This was around 1985. He told me that one kid averaged $500 a day. And $200 was expected. He would qualify quickly, sell, and talk to the next couple. His waiting room was full. Maybe 8 or 10 couples. He let me stand back and watch. My girlfirend even left for a few hours and came back to get me. I was impressed.

This guy was making $10-15,000 a day. in 1985. Selling vacuum cleaners.
Why didn't I copy him? I rationalized a few reasons. Mostly, because I was lazy and stupid.

Anyway, leads for home improvements are valuable. Work out a deal with a contractor and get to work.

Pizza cards would be pretty cool.

I remember in my hometown, they sold subscriptions to the local newspaper for a company that did this for their revenue, that may be another idea.

Aftermarket printer ink. Markups are healthy and you can set generous commissions. I used to manage a team of telemarketers that promoted this product but don't see a reason why it couldn't be applied to pavement pounders.

Pizza cards are a great product to sell door-to-door and I know because I have 2 commission sales reps that sell them for me 3 days a week and they sell on average 30 pizza cards per days at $10 each and I pay them $6 commission per card, so they make $180 and I make $120 and I didn't have to do any of the leg work, so if your interested in learning how I make money with pizza cards check out my signature below.

          The pizza card is a great idea and a concept that is easy to understand so why not build on that? Find local businesses that are willing to adhere to that concept, a few comes to mind;

A Chinese restaurant, buy one, get one
          A tanning salon, BYGO
          A gym, BYGO
          A coffee place, BYGO
A golf course, maybe one pays, a friend comes along for free
On that note (golf), any activity can bring a friend for free.

Maybe have a limited assortment of 5 establishments, that way, if they are not interested in pizza, there are 4 other offers to choose from so a bigger chance of a sale. Printing up 1,000 cards in full color, 14pt, is around $30 so with 5 individual discount cards, it would cost you $150 to get started. You could also make it so that one card had 2 offers, one on each side. Having 4 offers you would only need to pay for the printing of 2 cards, an outlay of $60.

Let us know how it goes,

          Eva

It's got to be something teenagers are in to for them to "get it" and have any sort of enthusiasm about. Anything to do with modern music, film or Tv programs, at the risk of stereotyping.

It all depends on the demographic they are going after! Do you have any information you could share with us about who they will be going after? This way we can give you a better answer.

I'm not 100% sure what a pizza card is. Is it a coupon that you purchase and use later? For me, door-to-door sales need instant gratification. I'm not sure I would buy a card and then want to wait to get the pizza. I'd want the pizza immediately.

I would sell a service, rather than a product. That way, they can build clientele at the same time. Maybe lawn care services, dog-walking, etc.

If it has to be a product, the only one I can think about me actually buying from door-to-door salesman is some sort of food like chocolate or something for a good cause like X amount of dollars will benefit X organization, but that would require collaboration.

Magazines of any sort. Time, people, etc. They are rather easy to sell and they are subscription based so that you get paid long after these teenagers stop working for you (I am guessing they are interns).

Think long term, don't sell anything that's a one time deal. Anything that has a reoccurring charge is good, most people don't cancel for life
