My Big Goal : $45 000 in 90 days.

I have decided to aim to make $45 000 in sales in 90 days. Why $45 000?

I want to have $50 000 in the bank by Jan 1st, 2013. It just seems like a nice number .

Here is how I plan to do this :

- I aim to sell 2 websites and 1 Google Places/SEO optimization package per week for the next 12 weeks.

- I aim to achieve this by taking my average number of prospecting calls for a sale (170), multiplying it by 3 for 510 and making that many calls per week, which equals about 85 per day for 6 days per week.

- I am not accounting for any other marketing methods, including referrals/local advertising etc. This will be all riding on cold calling, because really, it's the only thing I feel I have real control over.

I have set this goal because I have been feeling pretty lazy lately, and I wanted to kick myself back into gear. I have been coasting too long and need to feel that sense of accountability that only setting high goals seems to bring.

If anyone has any insights or questions they would like to share, please feel free. Otherwise, wish me luck, I'll need it!

Pretty ambitious schedule. All the best.

How many sales are you closing with your current efforts?

Varies depending on how lazy I am being, which is what has been annoying me. I lost track for a couple weeks and I am using this to get back on schedule, but on average, I have been doing $1-$2k per week in my lazy weeks, $3-$5k in my 'try hard' weeks.

Raise your prices, reduce the number of sales you need, and pursue higher-value targets.

Make it so you only have to sell ONE $4000 project a week.

You'll have more fun and be more excited. The money is out there.

Completely agree with this, you just gotta ask are you willing to risk your current income for a massive jump?

$45k is a monthly income for you if you step it up a little.

Perfect, I love the enthusiasm! Just do your best and you'll eventually get there some day, but keep in mind, it's not the journey that matters. It's all about the process.

    God bless,

I hope this works out for you, sounds like a pretty good goal. So, you are only collecting leads from cold calls?

    • Great goal and enthusiasm. And hat's off that you can take that much cold calling and not get burned out! I really don't know too many marketers that can keep that kind of cold call volume going, for any length of time. But I think it's fantastic that you are that motivated and disciplined. Here's to your efforts and success!

Have you heard of The Pomodoro Technique?

I have been applying this strategy and my productivity has been going through the roof.

Basically what you do is work in 25 minute intervals with 5 minutes breaks in between each 25 minute set. and then once you have finished four 25 minute sets, you have a 15-30 minute break.

This really helps train your brain to focus on the task that you are doing in that 25 minutes.

You can go to their website and find out more about it.

The Pomodoro Technique® (not an affiliate link)

They have a free ebook that you can download that explains the whole process.

I highly recommend it. Especially since you mentioned that you can be lazy.

Another thing that helped me when I didn't want to do something that I new I should be doing, is I would tell myself, "ok I don't really want to do this. So I am not going to focus on finishing it, but I am going to just get it started."

What I found is that it was actually the hurdle of getting moving that was the problem. And once I was moving it was easy to continue. So when you feel lazy tell yourself you will just get it started. You will do it for 10 minutes. Then the next time you will do it for 25 minutes, etc.
