Question for the Direct Mail Pros

For those of you who use direct mail for B2B lead generation what are your thoughts on mail that arrives around the holidays (the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc)? Are your response rates the same, lower or do you plan to not have mail campaigns delivered around those times?

B2B is going to depend on the business.

Retail will be busy and not have time for it. An RV dealer in the north will be dead and be playing on their advertsing for next year.

So one would be great to target and the other would be worthless.

Also depends on what you are selling. A busy business likely will be looking for ways to get their xmas customers back in the stores in jan and feb via bounce back coupons and similar.

I would not mail anything around the holidays. I see only problems
with sending then, no real advantages.

Not only because some businesses are really busy, but because people
tend to get out of business mode at that time.
