How to transfer Wordpress site to new domain?

Hey there, I am working on a client website, but am doing it on a test domain that I have because it was with a new template i was not used to working with. So, I have a question, and I know that i will need to do this in the future, and was the other reason i built on my test domain.

How do you move a site from one domain to another. I am using Wordpress and Host gator.

Is there one Folder that I can just FTP from one domain to another that will bring all of the pages I have built, images, setup, etc.?

    You will need not only move the files using FTP but also move the data from the MySQL database. All posts are stored in the MySQL, the files in your webspace is just the script which handles the data.

    Look for phpMyAdmin in your web hosting control panel to easily export the database.

    There are a lot of guides on how to do it yourself manually in less than half an hour. Just google it though , you will find plenty of guides.

      If your going to be doing this sort of thing on a regular basis, it might be worth investing in something like Backupbuddy. very easy to use

    An easy way to get your whole wordpress website on to another domain, is to go on the WP control Panel and click on Tools and then Export. It will save an XML file.
    Just Import that file on the new wordpress website
