I was just thinking about some marketing ideas this evening and just wanted to get some feedback. Does anybody think that there is a market out there for... animated infographics. I mean html5 allows us to build what would basically be an animated, interactive infographic that would surely get shared all around the web.

I just wanted to know if anyone has tried this method either to attract offline clients? It seems like it would be a great service, you could charge upwards of $500 for creation plus perhaps a bonus per 500 likes/shares.

I have done this for a few clients and have thought of creating an WSO about it to be honest but just wanted to see if anyone else had gone down this route.

Though I have no experience this seems a good idea. Animated things are attention grabbing and any such infographics would be killer.

Sounds like a Flash movie but in HTML5. Is that what you are describing? If so, that's been done for a long time, going back to Shockwave, but a great way to get people more interested in your product or service.

Sounds more like animated gif files.

OP is talking about interactive animations, which I don't believe can be done with animated gifs.

Localv - I believe the web is the great EQUALIZER. That sounds like a great idea so, knowing SEO, do your research, pick some keyword markets and GO FOR IT! That sort of creativity inspires me

What I'm describing is not flash or a gif but really just an html5 mini site with all the graphic components of an infographic with the added dimension of animation and interactivity. I will try to find some examples and post them tomorrow.
