What kind of conversion for "Web Design [city]"

Hey,
So I'm finally getting my company formed (We provide Killer Web-Designs and SEO, whitehat of course).

So the cities I'm targeting have a total of around 8000 searches so if I rank #1 I'd be getting around 4,000 (Estimate).

Now, my company's web design is a killer and a lot better than my competitors, I've got a nice portfolio and everything set up.
My pricing starts from 2,000 GBP (Web Design + Coding).

I was wondering what kind of conversions do you guys get for such keywords "Web Design [City]" ? 0.1%? 1%? I've had totally different answers, like 0.1% and 1%-5%.

    There are way too many different factors.
    That's why you have such a large gap.
    Copy, traffic source, positioning, offer, market, etc.

    Not worth the effort to get there in my experience. It seems to work better for freelance type designers rather than companies from what I'm seeing.

    I held number 1 spot in Leeds for a couple of months but even though traffic was great, conversions weren't. So I stopped concentrating on it.

    We do much better from things like "small business website deal", "need a website for my business" etc etc

    Although with all that said, our adwords has great conversion rates for "web design city" in several northern cities.
