Kindle Fire has big brass balls.

Some of you know i have been dealing with the kindle people for a while.

For the most part, i am making sure something i have in the works wont
piss them off. I also have a long term goal of becoming the exclusive dealer
for all of usa. That might be too overly ambitious, i don't know yet.

but that is the ultimate goal.

But check this out. When someone buys the kindle they have an option
when the kindle does the screen saver, the option is to display ads
or not to display ads.

according to them, its 50-50 on the decision.

So, they offered me a chance to advertise my business on that screen saver

You know what they did, they quoted me a price ... and had zero
facts to back up the amount.

as in .. they have NO IDEA whats so ever if the advertising is effective
if anyone clicks or visits or calls...

i.e NO TRACKING.

they still asked me for 6 MILLION DOLLARS for one million units.

UN F'n real.

who the hell is going to spend that type of money with no idea of a ROI.

You know what else, they did not pre qualify me. As in they have zero idea
if i can or cannot pay that amount.

talk about shooting from the hip.

Some times i wonder how these monster companies have made it
as far as they have....

    The sad reality is...they probably don't really care. Plain and simple.

    The fact is, someone WILL pay that amount and they know that. Businesses/companies sometimes spend millions every year on advertising that they know they are losing money on.

    I believe there was a post here a while ago regarding that topic. Big swingers don't care. And they WILL pay that without knowing what kind of ROI they will see.

      yeah, i am sure you are correct, some one will, actually since they are selling
      it, i would say its safe to say someone.. probably more then one
      already has.

    I'd have trouble taking that statement at face value.

    Amazon has a pretty good history of tracking almost everything, so them saying they don't have the facts to back up the amount doesn't pass the smell test.

    I could believe those facts are not being released though.

      but what is a guy supposed to do?

      I have had some seriously weird conversations with different companies in the past

      this is the first time some one said .. we don't know.

      I have to say, i did not think about your idea... that they were just not going to release the info.

      it did not occur to me at all...

      so now i am going ... Hmmmmm

    My experience so far in F500 companies.

    They are big, dumb, and stoopid.

    But the fact that they have sh*tloads of money, cash flow, and operational leverage, makes up for their idiocy.
