Thinking about MCA And cold calling???

I'm thinking about getting involved in Motor Club Of America. I figure i have experience in cold calling and cold call closing and have sold products larger then a $39.99 price point. I was thinking if i called a hundred warm leads i could close at least 2. They pay $80 commission for each sale so that would be $160...If i could do that i could make a nice living.Plus i could promote through PPC ads to a squeeze page and make other sales. I dunno anyone have experience with Motor Club of America????

How "warm" are your leads/what do you consider "warm"? Are you finding them, or does MCA do the legwork? Are you calling B2C?

Since you are doing it yourself, your best bet is just to sit down one night and do it for an hour or two, then you'll know what to expect. We can speculate all we want here, but until you call, you won't know. Maybe do that, and if you have questions or problems come back with some data on what your "warm" leads consisted of (pre-qualifying questions, or where you got them), how many calls you made, how good the list was (Disc/NI) and how many sales you made.

IMO, cold calling would work. You can say you're a company affiliate of Motor Club of America. That gives you credibility because they've been around so long. Of course, you're going up against the big one, AAA. I would research rates and benefits and put that into my script. I beleive MCA is more reasonable, but you need facts and figures.

You must have read about the spammers on social media sites, trying to sell. Calling seems like a great alternative. Reasonable to start too.

Good luck with it and let us know if you need help with a script.

    Spider,

I looked at an MCA associate's MCA club website and saw their package includes insurance benefits. I guess you can sell anything over the Internet and not have to be properly licensed but some states frown on selling insurance w/o a license.

I know to sell a particular similar service we needed a separate endorsement on our license here in NV. The company we sold for only sold through insurance agents. Bigger market, faster turnaround and no hassle from state agencies.

When I said I looked at an MCA website that's all I did so I don't know if they talked about licensing. I know I didn't see any link addressing that issue.

What caught my eye was the 50K death benefit. There is only one product that can be sold as a 50K death benefit and that is a life insurance policy. Hence, that is why I ask if you have to have an insurance license.

P.S. This is off the MCA webiste:

How is MCA’s plans different from other roadside assistance services?

•Although we provide incredible roadside assistance benefits, our life assurance benefits in all our plans are superb and affordable – there’s simply nothing that gives you more security than knowing you have emergency coverage in a variety of situations– from vehicle breakdown to emergency medical care.

Notice the term "life assurance" in the first sentence. They call life insurance life assurance in England. In the U.S. the departments of insurance in the states don't care what your marketing materials call it, it is still life insurance. To sell it you need a license.

I don't know. Even though the guy behind it was behind prepaid legal, that doesn't convince me a license isn't needed.

Would love to hear more from somebody with experience w/this company and how they are selling it w/o a license.

I have signed up with MCA because of the benefits provided in the program. One of the benefits provided is a discount for eye wear and dental services, included in the monthly fee. These discounts can be $19.95 each, I was looking into purchasing one of each for myself.

It is required by state to be licensed if you offer the life insurance, in my state it is a motor club license.

If you approach people about making money with the program you do want to understand the charge back portion of the program, if a person cancels you will be charged for the amount of the policy that has not been paid for if you received your commission via an advance instead of as earned. People who do not understand charge backs get disillusioned with the program.

If you have questions I would be happy to help.

      @oleskool

      In part you said:

It is required by state to be licensed if you offer the life insurance, in my state it is a motor club license.

Do I take it you have both licenses? As far as I know, all states require anyone selling a "motor club" program to be licensed through the DOI. Same for life insurance. If this is true, MCA has to have some sort of licensing option. At least I would think they would have to yet I didn't see a word about it on their website.

      Strange...

You are making $80 for a $480 a year program?
And if they cancel after the first month, you keep the $80? Or do the customers have to keep the coverage for so many months, to keep your $80?

I love MLM. Watching new people...with visions of sugar plums dancing in your head.

In Prepaid Legal, I knew people who made a decent living, simply selling the "policies". And I knew one guy that made a huge amount of money selling the program at seminars he put on.

if you really want to try selling this, I'd go door to door. Ask "Do you have AAA?" If they do, ask "Would you like to pay less for the same benefit?"

Every 10 or 20 people will ask questions, and you'll make a few sales a day.

But $80 for a $480 a year program? That's not much, my friend.

I know a few people who had some success with MCA, they do most of their marketing on Facebook and offline with flyers and or postcards. I hear that alot of members of MCA have issue with keeping new members paying their $40 a month to keep active and from what I understand they have to stay active for 3 months or you will get a charge back for a certain amount, so keep that in mind, but overall if you can get motivated and good marketers on your team then you can for sure have success with MCA.

I wish you all the best,

      Martin
