Zig Ziglar is considered a giant in sales and his specialty was closing.
Here is a video telling you how to do it.

I remember in 5th grade we had a class at school called "See you at the top" which was a series of Zig books and vids... Have loved him every since. That class was more exciting than any other, and I think I got more life skills out of it. Zig and Og Mandino are the "men" in my book.

It would take a special man to be Zig.

    Notes:

    - "Behavior which is recognized and rewarded is repeated"- (Good note for post purchase email on reports and info products... Help a person feel good about purchase they just made and leave them with a good feeling).

    - The "Extra" close- Good one- Start implementing.

    - "Shame close" is noteworthy. May never have occasion to use it but its worth a note.

"You'll get everything in life you want, if you'll just help enough other people get what they want".

Zig was the first speaker I ever watched. He, Jim Rohn, Earl Nightengale, Red Motley, and a few others are legends, in my opinion. I have every cassette album Zig produced.

You know, he sold cookware for a few years and life insurance too. He had real world experience that made what he taught real.

I had dinner with Peter Lowe about 35 years ago, when he was just doing little hotel talks , selling a set of cassettes. Peter later went on to produce those giant Success Rallys with Zig Ziglar, Dan Kennedy, presidents, and other luminaries.

I asked Peter about speaking back then. He asked me what I did, and I told him about my success in direct selling. He said "It's all the same, just expand on what you know". I thought he was blowing me off, but today, I know he was right. Everything I learned while selling those decades is now serving me well in speaking.

And Zig is still working in front of crowds. A little slower, perhaps, but he's still great.

Added later; I feature Zig in my introduction video I use when speaking. The applause at the end blends in with the regular applause. Not perfect, but it serves me well. The quality is not like it is live. My IT guy reduced the file.

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

For those that don't know, Zig passed away yesterday.

Not only was he a professional salesman,
he was also a consummate Gentleman.

Let's tip our hats to someone who found
importance in every person he met.
