Do you have a Virtual Reality Complex?

What is this phenomena? ...Well, it is something that I have seen exhibited by some of the more prolific posters here... It is something that prevents new Marketers from understanding what an 'acceptable' goal actually is... Quite frankly, it is something that has ruined a lot of lives - and may be ruining yours right now!

If you don't know me... My name is Adrian Browning. I am the world's most censored marketer, so it will serve you well to read this post in full before it gets closed or deleted.

Now... You have seen it, I see it and others may not even notice.. But this is something that is detrimental to your very security as a human being.

There actually are people who now gauge their success by how many posts they have made... how many 'views' their posts get.... or by how many times they log onto the internet and create bold faced lies about their personal achievements... all of these things create a faux reality for that person, that exists only whilst they are connected to the internet.

But what happens once they log out?

They are judged using the same variables that everyone else in 'the real world' are judged by... how big is your house? how many influential friends do you have? how many cars do you have? what is your net worth? are you a family man? do you provide for your family? are you doing respectable things with your life?

You see these are things that you can't lie about... These are the aspirations that your parents have for you, that your school teachers prepared you for and that, deep down, you WANT to achieve!

Now what made me come here and make this contribution? well, it's because I have seen that not too many of you have a correct sense of what is right or wrong.

People seem to want to make some sales so that they can "have enough money for Christmas"... So, then what happens after Christmas? ...When all of that money is spent, what next? ...You go back online looking for some other methods to "make some cash", right?

This is destructive living. Why? Because this is behavior that will have to be sustained in order for you to stay afloat. This means that you are trapping yourself in a cycle that keeps on turning.

You work - you get money - you spend money - you work - you get money - you spend money - you work - you get money - you spend money

Between those three actions, you have no time to actually create and maintain relationships with other people... you have no time to get out and explore this beautiful planet... you have no time to interact with your loved ones! You become a self induced slave to Hard Labor.

You've got it all messed up!

Your focus shouldn't be on "making extra cash" for Christmas... It should be on establishing income streams that will pump cash into your accounts for years and years to come.

More importantly, you should be asking: How can I convert my business into a machine that runs even when I am not there. - and then once you figure THAT out, your next question should be: How do I create 5 more of these?

Think longevity... don't just think about "Christmas", or "extra cash"... or "methods"...

You ought to be building sustainable income streams that will provide you with security. Because once that "method" stops paying out like it used to, or when your favorite website gets taken down - you'll be that thing that you never wanted to be... - you'll be a failure.

So THINK about what you are dedicating your time to, and then THINK is it really worth it? Because if you constantly have to 'work' for your money then you aren't actually in control of your life...

Remember, a business isn't a business if it's income isn't passive...

Don't be a bum

While I agree, I want to add something as this line of thinking got me into trouble when I was less wise lol.

I can see a problem with wanting that passive cash too early in the game and having that tunnel vision. When I was younger and more naive, I evaluated anything and everything looking for that perfect business model to generate passive income. In my immaturity, I would forsake anything that didn't look like it would generate that type of income and so would miss many chances to build a great business.

Today, I firmly believe you have to pick something that you'll enjoy and just get your hands dirty. And yes... always keep your mind on the future, looking for opportunities to expand and create different passive income streams, but if you shrug off working 60 hour weeks until you find something you can walk away from, you'll not get very far. In fact, like me, you'll go broke while building that passive income stream.

I think a book like the EMyth outlines this sort of progression. Do the work, but systematize, document and outsource/hire asap.

    Actually, here is my viewpoint

I think everyone's goal should be to figure out how to help someone else get what they want or need and then they will get what they need!

I think we should call nichecloner ziglarcloner. Regardless of what we call him, he's right. It is a philosophy that has worked well for years.
