lot of stuff done and need advice to do more faster

Hello Everybody,

First sorry for my english, i'm a french canadian guy and english is real from perfect...

Found this forum and talk level looks high on marketing so as i need every luck with me i registred and i'm here posting

I'm a computer guy for 30 years doing computer repair, web site building and anything related to computer, i did some coding in many lanugage, also electronic stuff, you know kind of the hacker with computers everywhere around him, many screens and cable everywhere

For a many years i had a couples of big clients who was filling enough jobs from my need but as things happend they are gone now and i'm in a bigger city working a lot to get money flow back in again.

I'm now doing callin, woking with my confort zone to get use to it but it's also dificult for me as i'm a very introvert guy buy i know it's a BIG solution, juste have to get use to it.

I got many website to promote my stuff like studiowebgenie.com studiovideogenie.com yvonboulianne.com technicieneninformatique.com and a couples more .

Also have a presence on Linkedin, Facebook and twitter, Google + just set up, nothing posted yet.

The more important is that i need to get as much money possible for christmass, 5000$ would be very good and it looks possible. Computer consulting can pay a lot, web site design also but it's verry slow on that for now...

1- Thinking about selling Mobile website

2- Fixing some computer problem

3-Somes other service clients will ask, network installation, Server upgrade, website redesign, website update....

Will knock on as much door as i can giving business cards with on the back something like - FREE CHRISTMASS CARD AT technofolia and telling peoples i can help them with their computer need.

Now please any suggestion to focus my marketing effort ?

i know i'm way too much dispersed so i need idea.

Would love to have some other idea in computer or internet related stuff that could give me more money with a reasonable amount of effort before Christmas

    First of all Rome was not a built in a day, building a business takes time, effort and dedication and if you're in this for the long hull, then expert to put in some dirt to making it successful.

    I know facebook has been very profitable for me because it allows you to go after the perfect customer.
    but again, its a matter of taking the time (and money) to invest on finding out how these things work.

    Actually you cannot earn huge money overnight if you have to habituated with most of the marketing strategies in internet. My suggestion for you to publish paid advertisement in facebook to raise your marketing staff quickly.

    This gives you almost a month to land only one or two clients depending on your price.... You could land some with cold calling with time to spare. Of course there are other methods, but as you can see , through the expression here, those ways take time investment and money....it will most likely be awhile before they pull. In the meantime, 200 numbers a day keeps the bill collectors away. Almost guaranteed, and yes, it could happen in 24 hours time in some cases... 3 weeks is plenty.

    You asked for a focused way, there is nothing more focused than getting down with a phone with your eyes on a prize, and keeping the blinders on till you come up with a sale. Its become fairly standard, boring advice around here, but the reason is because its just the Gods honest truth.

    For that reason , you will hear it over and over. Again, there is other advice, but if you cant afford to be passive and leave things to chance for potentially weeks or months...then this is your best route.

    Or, as stated above, you can place an ad on facebook and find others who are desperate to achieve money before Christmas, and provide them that opp by selling for you... Still, its more sure to take things into your own hands in this situation.

      Thanks John, your advice sound real to me, i received the message and i'm on cold call to make a hit

      When a bit more times and money on my hands i will also learn about mailing and helping other peoples but for now i take no risk, getting the hands dirty

        You have been a "computer guy" (whatever that is) for "30 years" and you're now trying to make $5Grand "for christmas"....

        30 Years is a long time... I mean, hell - where were you in 1996 - 99 during the .com boom? ...Everyone I know that's been messing around with "computers" for 15 years+ are absolutely rolling in it in 2012... If not due to the $10Grand they invested in a young Yahoo, then due to having brought at least one offline market online..

        You must have put your money towards some ill advised investments, or forgotten the details for that secret account that you have out there in the Cayman Islands because this is outlandish

        To those with brains and a sufficient enough IQ level, please raise your standards and ambitions beyond "making some cash for Christmas", because once that day has passed - that's it... all that spare change will have surely vanished.

        Your thoughts and intentions should be aimed toward building a 'business'... not making some "extra cash"... We are civilised people who should be wise enough to understand that something that produces income without you being there is all you need... Because once you have that, THEN it begins... Once you have more than 1 cash producing asset you can, whole heartedly, tell yourself that you will never need "extra cash" again... you'll be able to build something tangible to leave behind for your family.

        Or, you can just "get down with the phone" like Johnson said... See how far that will get you

          First it's not a question of IQ or computer stuff...

          Knowledge about computer don't give you money unless you know sales / Marketing and maybe , maybe.... i had some other stuff on my hands to deal with ?

          Also making money for christmas is something that happend, sometimes you just need it and btw it doesn't mean not building a stable business but just using insentive to get out of the confort zone and do what need to be done...

          Everyone should walk in someone else shoes for for 10 000 miles before saying stuff about what he should have done or not ....

          Now present times and YES phone call is the way to to make money fast and it's what i do right today!!!!
