What have you learned from Zig?

Zig Ziglar passed away last week. One thing that I have learned from is: "If you can dream it, then you can achieve it. You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want."

How about you?

Marketing is not a battle of products. It is a battle of perceptions.

      Rich old people.

Rich young people have small libraries and fast internet connections.

I have learned that people like starting their own threads despite the fact there are a lot of existing threads about the late great Zig Ziglar.

    Two biggest lessons...

1: There is a difference between "prospecting" and "suspecting".

2: "You have to prime the pump", then keep the pipeline full so there arent any breaks in the flow.

Here's another good one to refresh your motivation in various opportunities.

      Maybe not what anyone was looking for, but;

Zig Ziglar was the first speaker/athor to purposely include stories in his books that would lead to huge orders from the company CEOs featured...or the companies themselves.

He was the first one to realize the potential for books as a genuine marketing piece for his speaking services. Barry Kaye was the next. He wrote books about life insurance, with the sole purpose of using them to sell life insurance.

Anyway, Ziglar was a great story teller. And when I was selling life insurance, I actually used a couple of the closes outlined in Secrets Of Closing The Sale.

I have every cassette album he put out. Zig Ziglar and Jim Rohn are the two Masters I listen to that make me feel good, just listening to them talk.

Ziglar's riff on the importance on being a salesperson, and how noble a profession it is...is a classic. I wish I had a link. I'm sure it's on Youtube somewhere.

Watching Ziglar speak for the first time created the desire to be a speaker.
Some people are simply part of what create history. If Zig never became a speaker and author...the world would just be a different place.

And I would be a different man.

Having the results of your teachings echo through time is a form of immortality. Having people's lives change for the better, because you were here....Not a bad way to live.

Zig Ziglar was one of the best to show people how important attitude is and to focus on working on your attitude first. I have yet to hear him say anything that I don't agree with. I found his book the other day, "Network Marketing For Dummies". I am trying to build a business currently. His book gave me a boost and an added faith in the industry.
