Does review funneling work?

Has anyone hear tried review funneling? And if you have, what were your results?

Review funneling is making a custom page which directs negative reviews to a private inbox and positive reviews to review sites like Yelp, Google Places, etc.

    The logic seems sound, but I would like to here more specifics of how well this strategy works?

      Me too. The main problem I see is whether or not people will actually take the time to fill out the survey (and then make a positive review on a review site). Perhaps some sort of reward can be offered, but I know that review sites have something in their policies saying that you can't bribe customers. I don't know whether a middle man site is enough to bypass that rule.

        I don't know if it works yet, but I mentioned it to some other business owners in the offline world, and they thought that the idea was great. Someday I'll get the time to market that service, but for now all that I know is that business owners liked the idea.
