Keep in mind the cost is going up to 16cents in january.

What are you trying to accomplish by the mailing?

Unfortunately you can't send an EDDM mailing to a targeted list. EDDM is for saturation mailing, where no list is involved. The postcards would be simply delivered to every address on the mail carrier's route.

Do you mean you want to use EDDM to get leads and than add them to the targeted list? Otherwise Bob Ross summed it up EDDM isn't for lists.

Yeah, EDDM doesn't allow for targeted mailing. Who are you targeting? Also, what type of deals are you looking for? Deals on EDDM printing?

That's a bulk mailing and different from EDDM. If you want to do it yourself then you'll need a mailing permit.

If not, then you can outsource to a mailing service like postcardmaina etc.

        Wasn't EDDM already 16? Maybe I'm confused.

He could still do it with first class stamps, he is likely going to be paying the full price for about 10% anyway, maybe even more. I wouldn't suggest a mailing permit unless you plan on doing a lot of mailings. If you're just getting your feet wet then just use first class stamps, its 32 cents each until the 1st then its 33, but bulk you can save about 6 cents each piece unless they bounce then you pay the 6 extra. It just depends on if you do enough volume to justify the permit cost.

You would save money if you print and delivered them yourself.

As for printing, gotprint.net is the cheapest I've found online. However, the printer I work with has better pricing and I'm a broker for them.

Do you have a strategy for this campaign? How do you plan on tracking your ROI?

Some local chambers have use of their mailing permit as a benefit....I know mine does and it comes in handy for when I want to target a list. If you piecemeal together a campaign it will be cheaper but there is plenty of work involved. Sorting and labeling is no easy task when your are talking a few thousand postcards. Companies like postcardmania take care of everything including design but your pay a premium for that.
